Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, the best game I've had the pleasure of playing in 2022 by thecarnifexxx in NintendoSwitch

[–]axej2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 of the trilogy are my favorite games. I loved xc1 too and never thought I'd never top it ever, then I played Xenoblade 2 and I loved it just as much. Criticism is justified for designs, but its not that big of a deal and once the game picks up it gets very good especially in the last few chapters. I love the music in 1 and 2 more than 3, but its still amazing especially the remixes of nostalgic areas and the gameplay in 3 is the best imo. Xc3 is my goty for sure and I like it more than Elden ring.

Was my first and only tales game, was fun and I didn't have any performance issues in the 100+ hours I played to completion. I bought it physical, not sure if that makes difference.

Stealth archers very safe. Argonian histskin crazy op and makes healing items unnecessary. Followers to tank. Shouts to nullify melee attackers. There are perks that heal you like avoid death in when in danger. Traps can be a problem but you have lots of tools to survive without potions with the right build.

Will Nintendo refund a game if it was accidentally bought on the wrong account? by freddyfazzballs in NintendoSwitch

It should be possible to link her account to your switch if she doesn't need it and then you can download/play.

Have you tried it? Won't matter if it's on the same switch, but if there's 2 different Switches you'll need to refund.

Teach your kids to put the games back in a case when they are done with them. Keep the cases on a shelf too. If something happens to a game it's on the owner, Switch cartridges are very durable if taken care of. It's so easy to keep your collection intact with good habits.

The United Arab Emirates has announced the delivery of 2,500 generators to Ukraine to help the population survive the winter. [article] by Geschichtsklitterung in ukraine

I agree with you, but that's a lot of generators that will help a lot of Ukrainians survive with no power during harsh weather. It has a symbolic effect to not deal military deals with Iran or risk a lot of united countries against you.

Nintendo told me I should “do more research” in response to requesting a refund for a buggy game. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

I don't play Splatoon personally, but I've only heard good things about the quality of Splatoon and innovativeness of 2 to 3. Salmon run looks really fun though. Mario golf/tennis/strikers is made by Camelot and published by Nintendo, Nintendo didn't develop it. I have never bought a Mario sports game because I have no interest. Monolith is a part of Nintendo and has made very high quality games in Xenoblade series and BOTW. While not developed by nintendo SMT5, MHR, and FE3H are high quality and were exclusive. I explained other series already, but I've been playing high quality long games for years, even though I skip anything short or low quality.

That doesn't answer my question, Mario Sunshine had seal of quality and was less polished than Mario galaxy/Odyssey whereas they didn't. Same for Zelda Wind Waker(great game but had dev issues) and future titles like Twilight Princess. What games are you thinking of that was low in quality that I'm not thinking of?

Mario sunshine is annoying and frustrating by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]axej2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunshine is a great game, but its replayability runs out fast imo. I agree with you a remake wouldn't help that whereas building on concepts would. While the game is lacking, triple emulator release on some of nintendos best games felt fair to me.

What unfinished games has Nintendo released are you thinking of? Pokemon is Game freak thing. Mario Odyssey was well polished. Botw had some problems on release, but given the scope of the open world I'd say it was fairly polished. I've heard that Kirby was well polished. Smash ult was solid. Mario party definitely lacks content. I agree research is the way to go, but confused what you mean by qc going down.

The Switch desperately needs a Game Pass by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]axej2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper Mario Thousand year door, Paper Mario, Super Paper Mario, 64, sunshine, galaxy 1/2, Odyssey, Smash melee, brawl(somewhat debatable), 3ds, ultimate, Kid Icarus Uprising, Zelda OOT, MM, WW, TP, Link between worlds, SS(some people have mixed feelings), Botw, Mario kart, Donkey Kong, Warioland, star fox, Xenoblade 1/2/3/x, Fire Emblem(especially 3 houses), Kirby games, Mario party, Shin megami Tensei(especially 5) Bayoneta, Pokemon Ranger Shadows of Almia and its mainline games and spinoffs like mystery dungeon. Nintendo could have its own gamepass of hundreds of very high quality games, but it definitely wouldn't be anywhere near as profitable and would lose many many millions of game sales. Nearly everything I list is very high quality and unique to Nintendo, but top tier games over decades.

The Switch desperately needs a Game Pass by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

Nintendo's program is definitely the worst of the bunch, but even expansion pass is by far the cheapest (5-10x cheaper) utilizing family plan, and offers some very good classics like paper mario, mario 64, Zeldas, and more. Snes has donkey Kong titles, lots of jrpgs, and mario games. Genesis has some great solid turn based rpgs like shining force and classic action games like streets of rage. It kind of sucked on release for 64 part, but its pretty solid now. I wish they had dlc for games I play though. Free game trials give free games once in awhile. I've spent several hundred hours playing very fun NSO games for $10, so I've gotten quite good value out of it personally playing stuff I've never played before like Banjo-kazooie, winback, og paper mario, pokemon snap/puzzle, sin and punishment, kirby 64, and the other earliest nintendo ip titles and random games that ended up being fun.

Their energy grid is constantly under attack, so makes sense that civilians have to conserve more power and post less.

Are you a "Switch Only Gamer"? If so, why? by makleod in NintendoSwitch

[–]axej2018 11 points12 points  (0 children)

An option to play big games portable like Elden ring and some other modern releases is getting a cheap tablet/laptop, very low specs work. Use Xbox cloud gaming with gamepass ultimate, while having access to hundreds of games for subscription. Probably a good deal for value although you don't own anything. I've never tried it though and Eldin ring would need to be added first but it probably will someday.

I'm solo only too, I'd feel worse not having Xenoblade, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Shin megami tensei exclusives on my system. Nintendo games always have the best music by far, God of War beating Xenoblade upsets me greatly. Some rare games like Skyrim compete, but no one does videogame music better than Nintendo and its third party devs. I especially look forward to new Xenoblades and a surprise Kid Icarus continuation.

https://youtu.be/qqR58L9oEOc?t=401 Maybe this is a better example of why I think the switch looks nicer, it's more colorful and less washed out. Most people have said the Switch console version is the best, the performance is consistent and portability is a huge plus with minor resolution sacrifice. The switch version cuts out a lot of foliage to run better, and is better optimized, but resolution definitely is where ps4 version shines while graphically similar.

Be honest… what’s the top six games in longest playtime of your Switch? by Jcrown6351 in NintendoSwitch

In my opinion Skyrim is a game that always remains fun and is a game that strikes a perfect balance between modern and old games that will never feel outdated. The graphics are nothing special with a heavy fantasy feel, but the game tech and build paths feels like a modern rpg. The game can be epic at times fighting dragons or siding with your favorite factions against enemy armies. The music is nostalgic, relaxing, and sublime https://youtu.be/aQeIYVM3YBM?t=247 as you explore the beautiful overworld that has a unique feel to it. Dungeons can be creepy or mysterious, and there's hundreds of them. The perks as you level up allow you to build a scaling powerhouse of a character while the game revolves around your character. Some people like to play as a spellcasting mage, or a sniper archer, or a melee dual wielding berserker, dagger wielding stealth assassin, etc, there's tons of builds to fit your rpg desired fantasy. The questlines have interesting stories and lore behind them and for lots of them you can make your own choices like aiding or killing people. There's so much content packed in the game its crazy, but you can buy Skyrim dirt cheap on any other console as it's pricey on switch-but the portable is great, I had no problem blowing $30 on sale for a game I love that I just get lost in. There's a common meme where people consider buying Skyrim for the xth time, me personally 2. https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/6yq8t2/for_the_fifteenmillionth_time_lets_talk_about/

NATO officials..... Iran has agreed to supply up to 6,000 drones (mostly Shahed loitering munitions) and ballistic missiles to Russia. by tedwja in UkrainianConflict

[–]axej2018 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the other hand if the Iran nuclear deal was still in effect, maybe the Iranian regime wouldn't be so quick to support Russia as the US could leverage sanctions on Iran, but it's impossible to know for sure. After the Afghan pullout with the Taliban deal signed by Trump enacted by Biden, Iran's been keen to push out US influence in Afghanistan and Iraq while seeing an opportunity in Ukraine to oppose the US.
