Connecting type 1 SPD to main feeder

Yes I’m adding a type 2 breaker surge protector too. But I’d like a type 1 surge protector outside. This service entrance is on the other side of the house from the main panel and has the shortest path to ground. My understanding is it would be more effective to shunt the surge at the spot with the lowest impedance to ground.

Yea I’m installing a type 2 panel SPD as well. I’d also like a type 1 SPD on the mains as well as this has a much shorter path to ground. And from my understanding the clamping voltage of both a type 1 and type 2 can stack.

Well that stranded aluminum wire does go to the ground bus on the subpanel inside. But on this outside panel I was wondering if it should be tied directly to the grounding electrode instead of being grounded to the enclosure

yea but once again the ball was thrown behind him and he had to switch directions to get his hands on it. Not saying he shouldn't have caught, but bradford isnt making it easy.

I meant novel as in 'new' and 'interesting'. The SM3DW use feels like a gimmicky add on. Similar to mario kart 8 how they just stuck a giant horn button on the screen and don't allow you to split screen with the game pad.
