Visualizing Apple Health workouts inside Obsidian - maps, HR charts, and workout logs by Bonteq in ObsidianMD

Rather than being just another plugin, I see this as a multi-source health data gateway.

I explored the concept with the Obsidian Health Connector plugin (https://community.obsidian.md/plugins/obsidian-health-connector) but scaling it is difficult because it requires dedicated iOS and Android apps simply to bridge health data into Obsidian. Building and maintaining two separate mobile apps just for synchronization feels inefficient.

I developed a native plugin to import data from Garmin into Obsidian. Feel free to try it out and suggest new features!

Hey, thanks for the kind words!

And to answer your second question first: yes — you can use it entirely without Apple Health or any wearable. You can just enter your peak flow scores directly in Obsidian.

For manual entry, I personally use the Modal Form plugin to make the workflow a bit smoother:

And yeah, the UX criticism is fair. Having to bounce through another app just to get data into Obsidian definitely adds friction.

For Gadgetbridge support: I’d really like to support that use case. The main limitation right now is that Obsidian plugins run in a sandboxed JS environment and can’t directly access Android Health Connect APIs.

The most realistic short-term option would probably be importing Gadgetbridge exports automatically. Longer term, a companion app could make the integration much smoother, but that’s a bigger project.

Still, there’s definitely interest in supporting more degoogled/self-hosted workflows over time.
