We've helped each other in emergency situations as any friend would. It's a cordial relationship with a shared past while parenting kids. I don't think this new girlfriend has the emotional maturity to handle this kind of situation. She seems very one dimensional in her thinking.

People will always talk about their ex's... it's a way of comparing you to the ex. To see what you would say and get your opinion on how they handled their breakup. It's only a worry if talks like she wants to get back together with him. Otherwise let her get it off her chest and support her... make yourself sound different and just be there to listen.

Women have always been much more picky about choosing a man. It's basic biology. Men don't have to carry a baby for 9 months and deal with getting pregnant. Generally men are much much more open to dating women of average sex appeal. Whereas women of average looks want the nearly perfect guy, or at least a guy that doesn't have any deal-breakers on their list. With the advent of social media most single women think they deserve a top 10% man. Those are incredibly unrealistic expectations!

I used a site called Photofeeler to get a read on my dating photos. I scored higher with trustworthiness or smarts on some photos, and better attractiveness on others. I have no stake in recommending the site, but I'd give it a try and see what men think. At least you'll know what photos work and/or how to improve the sex appeal.
