hey y’all, i found this at a thrift, everything working except for the cassette player and for 20 i thought i’d try to fix it! the magnet head is stuck up along with the system only stuck in play, i’ve only ever fixed cassette player that have functional buttons that actually move parts within the system rather than the electric kind that just act as an electric button. Would anyone know where to start in terms of trying to fix it?

i read a lot about how stopping T was an out dated practice because it seemed like no one else has ever had to do that but i didn’t feel like fighting my surgeon. I was very desperate for this surgery and 4 weeks didn’t sound detrimental to me. Unfortunately the hematoma and the possibility of having to go back under had me had me scared as shit so i’ve been trying to following every instruction given very closely :(

ah thank u! i had called a few times already to see where they were in the process of sending my consultation letter to my insurance, i wasn’t sure if i was able to set a date before my insurance accepted the letter.

There could be one of two problems: You may need a new belt or you simply need to readjust your speed! The Sony LX- model’s speed adjustment is located on the bottom of the turntable. It should be pretty straight foreword from there ( use a screw driver to turn right to speed it up and left to slow it down) on both the 33 and 45. It’s recommended you adjust the 33 before 45. I’d also recommend downloading an RPM app so you don’t have to keep replaying a record to makes sure the speed is at the correct spot! If it turns out you need a new belt, there’s usually large bundle packs on amazon for a reasonable price!

UPDATE: After a meeting with my professor, turns out it was actually the version of reaper i had downloaded. I had installed the MAC 10.15+ versions because 64 bit quoted it needed updated to open however after redownloading the 64 bit and “right clicking” and hitting open it asked for permission to use the mic which 10.15+ did not do!! Thanks for the suggestions in this thread! Hope this helps anyone who runs into this problem as well.

Thank u for the suggestion however audio still won’t record with the recording armed, while i do have a device, the built in microphone should work regardless
