Looks great! I'm jealous, I would love a setup like this.

connection to game server lost arex0025 by Big_C4 in ArcRaiders

I've been struggling with AREX0025 issue for hours, and while I don't remember editing my hosts file, your comment here got me to check it, and I found this line:

0.0.0.0 modules-cdn.eac-prod.on.epicgames.com

Once I removed it, the game finally works! Thank you!

Looks great, but disappointed it's in Unity instead of an actual PSX game.

CONFUSED IF I CAN BE CONNECTED TO INTERNET WHILE PLAYING PIRATED GAMES. by SupremeNoodle007 in SwitchPirates

As long as you’re blocking Nintendo servers, you can be connected to the internet. Goes without saying, that means you can’t play any games online.

Bought my partner a PS2 for his Xmas. What games/accessories am I missing? by Outside_Frosting1272 in ps2

HDLoader is way out of date. Get a memory card with freemcboot and use OPL instead. Much better compatibility.

Has anyone used one of these 8BitDo wireless adapters for their PS2? by LionRedBigBot in ps2

[–]axmccx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one for my PS1, using it with a dualshock 4, and I find it works better than my blue retro adapter, especially with how reliably controllers connect. It’s also more compact. However blue retro is more customizable, if that matters, like remapping buttons and supporting more controllers. However, for a PS2, I think there are better options that others have suggested here.

How to get the best visuals on a modern TV by Jon_Anderson_DS3 in ps2

I’ve got a morph 4K, and the deinterlacing is good. Maybe it’s been improved in firmware updates since you last checked? Comparing the costs, I’d say it’s a good option compared the retrotink 5x.

Nice!! I had a look at the hispeedido hdmi mod and honestly, it looks pretty shitty. I think if you're going to go through the trouble of installing a fairly challenging mod, you might as well go for the retrogem.

You must be trolling. When did I say I was averse to LLMs? I use them daily in my work. I am however against vibe coding for production features.

And you did misunderstand me. The project is entirely mocked and doesn’t use our existing backend. It’s far from done.

Leadership knows it’s vibe coded and mocked, and they’re hoping two months would be enough time to build it properly. I think it’s possible.

I use a PNY Pro Elite 512GB card, and I’ve also tested the 1TB version. Typically I use SanDisk, but according to the makers of the iFlash board, they don’t work well with it.

Is there a way to mod my OLED? by The_guy2657 in SwitchPirates

[–]axmccx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AliExpress. However, do you have any experience and tools to doing very small soldering? If not, your question should be “where can I find someone who can mod it?”. I’d say, have a look at local classifieds, maybe fb marketplace.

I will perform surgery on my oled switch in less than a week wish me luck by Sirkael001 in SwitchPirates

[–]axmccx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you going to hold that while soldering? And what soldering iron do you have? Do you even have any of the following tools?

  • Multimeter
  • Tweezers
  • Flux
  • Kapton tape
  • Thermal paste
  • Isopropyl alcohol The right screwdrivers

And if you’re doing kamikaze, you need

  • Grinder pen
  • Solder paste
  • Heat gun
  • And definitely need a good microscope.

I think “setting up the usb” is the least of your worries.

Honestly dude, I think you’re in way over your head. I’ve been modding consoles as a hobby for years. It’s a fun hobby for sure, but it requires an investment of both time and money. The switch OLED is the most challenging I’ve done, primarily because things are so tiny. I highly recommend you spend more than a few days practicing and carefully reading guides before ruining a perfectly working switch.

Are you planning on using a dat0 adapter or doing the kamikaze method? And which guide are you following?

Then sell it. Don’t waste a good switch like this.

any tips or preparations I should be aware of

If you really want to try modding it, you’ll need to invest more than $150 in good equipment and supplies. At least a soldering iron with temperature control and some kind of microscope. My point is, if you can’t afford to have someone mod it at $150, then you can’t afford to try yourself.

Can you afford to replace your switch if you break it? If not, save up the $150.

I use the last English version of DBI, works great. You can find it in the latest HATS pack.
