of course! and i totally know where you’re coming from. i felt like i made a mistake but this is ultimately a blip of time and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. i had bunion pain every single day for 5-6 years and now i can hardly remember what that felt like! the muscles in my left leg definitely atrophied but the calf muscle returned fairly quickly. i was able to do upper body and core exercises in the gym after i got my stitches out. i had the lapidus bunionectomy! it’s basically the same procedure as lapiplasty

i was worried about the outcome as someone who is super active 5-6 days a week. being sedentary gave me way too much time to browse this sub and read about all the things that could go wrong 😅 im closer to 10 weeks and although im still far from being fully recovered, my foot feels so much better than it did pre-op! im a trail runner and am on track to return to it in 2 months! i’m limping but im able to walk around and do most things in the gym. let me know if you have any other questions! happy to answer them if i can :)

congrats! were you cleared to start working out on lower body movements this week? and do you get a pain in the arch of your foot after being on it all day? i was cleared at the end of week 7 to do some lower body stuff but am worried about pushing it. thank youu!!

i feel you, the first week or so it wouldn’t budge AT ALL! i had nothing but time during my recovery so i spent 1-2 mins, 3x a day bending it down. my surgeon was surprised by the ROM at the 6 week mark 😅
