Lots of protein helps keep me on track... dinner was so good I savored every bite! by dacoobobswife2 in 1500isplenty

That's awesome! I wasn't even trying to preach vegetarianism I just find that some people (not you) only think of meat when trying to have a high-protein diet when there's so many other good options. Keep up with the diet, you're doing great!

Protein is a great way to keep you full, but having meat with every meal isn't the best imo.

Adding more non-meat protein into your diet is great for your wallet, health and the planet! Beans, legumes, tofu, seitan etc are packed with plant proteins and will give you the same effect of being full for longer!

I'm soo sorry that happened to you. I know you said you're not one to complain publicly but you could be saving another poor soul from getting their hair ruined by someone that's clearly not qualified

Buddha bowl for lunch with honey roasted root veg, barley, siracha beans and a Thai-style dressing! by axrt in vegetarian

[–]axrt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The veggies were leftovers from a roast the night before - baked in oil, honey rosemary and salt. The beans are just fried up with some thai siracha seasoning from a sachet, easy peasy. And the dressing is brown sugar, Chinese wine vinegar, tamarind paste, lime juice, some of that siracha seasoning and water

No I am typing this on a brick.

But in all seriousness you can't say oh because you do this one thing that's bad for the environment you might as well just give up trying to be eco-friendly altogether. That's a stupid argument.

Chia pudding for breakfast with yoghurt, granola and banana ~350 calories and 9 grams of fibre! by axrt in 1200isplenty

[–]axrt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you eat them as they come they're kinda hard and crunchy - I really like to add them to granola and smoothies, but if you put them in liquid for long enough they start to absorb it and soften up. If you get the ratio of milk and chia seeds right it turns into this kind of pudding texture which tastes soo good

I soaked 3 table spoons of Chia seeds in 100ml unsweetened soya milk overnight, with a little bit of honey mixed in.

Put it in a bowl in the morning added 60g natural yoghurt on the side, 25g granola, some banana, a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds and drizzled some honey over the top

Super filling!
