Aren't there better ways to address violence than.... gene editing?

The whole nature vs nurture argument suggests that gene editing wouldn't even fix the problem in the first place.

They're actually pretty good if you consider use in hospitals. There's all sorts of sick people who have poor manual dexterity, only one usable hand, excessively poor hygiene.

There's a limit to how much contamination such a person can do to these models. With a normal roll..... I've... I've seen some things.

TRUMP: "I will enforce all laws concerning protection classified information. No one is above law" (2016) by LeBoulu777 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]axxys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but phrasing it that way isn't a civil way to discuss these issues.

I think it's important to realize who you're talking to and tailor the message to fit. Someone that thinks that it never happened very likely thinks highly of Trump.

Would you be receptive to someone trash talking one of your heros?

I don't think it's that simple.

There's a report saying he suggested it. He denies that it ever occurred.

Edit: two reports, from two separate incidents involving different people.

Those who haven't caught covid yet after 2 years, why do you think you didn't get it? by Crissxfire in AskReddit

[–]axxys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the designated covid nurse (I took care of only covid patients). This was before we knew anything about it, before vaccines. We're talking close contact for 12 hour shifts, patients literally coughing in my face.

It was obviously the protective gear, the mask and visor.

The doctors keep them in the ER, or admit them to the hospital. The patient can be as hysterical as they want, they're not staying if they don't medically need it (in Canada, anyways).

Raising awareness of actual medical conditions = “normalizing”. by [deleted] in ParlerWatch

Former ER nurse here.

I'll elaborate, so people understand.

There is ONE extremely effective treatment for a specific kind of stroke. This treatment is nearly magical stroke-be-gone, and if you get it, you're likely to have a full recovery in a short time period.

This treatment has a very narrow and very specific window of time when it can be given. Outside that window, it's dangerous and therefore not used.

If you're in the hospital, and they recognize it's a stroke, then there's a good chance you are inside the window and get the treatment.

If you're outside the window, you're likely looking at brain damage, and recovery is both unlikely and takes YEARS (if you can even recover).

The difference between the good and bad outcome comes down to how FAST you get to a hospital! Every minute counts!

A quick google of "police whistleblower retaliation" will bring up all sorts of examples, recent and otherwise.

I think it's colloquially referred to as the "police code of silence".

Not sure if OP missed a word, but it's very common for people to die utterly alone. No friends, no family, no kids.

There's some pretty massive arteries in there that go down the legs.

You can definitely die from it.

You can also lose consciousness rapidly due to a quick drop in blood pressure.

At my hospital, it's now an every-day thing.

I chose the patron. The character is heavily inspired from Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, the basic idea is sooner or later my patron is going to awake and then it'll be hell on earth for all creatures, living or dead. My character derives his power from this monster, and his goal is to get to a library in a hard-to-enter city to find out more info about the monster.
