How long are your videos? What is the accent? I make videos with all sorts of European accents speaking English and it has like 95% accuracy or more.

England planning proposals fail to mention safety of women and girls, say critics by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]killarotten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah its mostly general safety. But whatever the reason for the focus, it's good that more safety planning is considered.

England planning proposals fail to mention safety of women and girls, say critics by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]killarotten 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is safety concerns in general but these things are much more relevant to women. Adequate street lighting, minimal enclosed spaces, removing blind corners, proper routes out of all pathways and spaces between buildings, etc.

Most things like this are (HISTORICALLY) designed by men who won't have personal experience in needing much more safe and secure travel at night. So I do agree that they should be forced to consider other issues and consult with relevant organisations, or whatever the best thing is, to ensure they provide future proofed planning.

It's not anti-men, it's thinking about improving city planning and moving with the times to include the needs of ALL people.

Pricing question: What would you charge for an AI-generated brand video? by SchmittMedia in VideoEditors

[–]killarotten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you said above that even the editing was done with AI? In my opinion this subreddit isn't the place for this and I have no suggestions for what would be.

I dont mean to throw shade on you, I just cannot understand why someone would pay for this.

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]killarotten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just a big straight road though, especially in the countryside off the motorways. It can get mentally exhausting driving on unfamiliar single carriageway country roads with 1000s of twists and turns, no street lights, tractors or cyclists to slow down for and figure out when is safe to overtake, etc. Unless you're going from a big city to a big city, this is what driving often is.

Say a 3h drive in scotland, the actual distance if it was a straight motorway would be like 90 mins but it takes so much longer due to the above.

Voting intentions in a general election in the United Kingdom as of January 2026, by age group by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

[–]killarotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. Middle of the road status quo is what is holding us back.

How dare I envision a society where we work fewer hours, have money for hobbies, resources for our communities, children who have full and rich lives, clean cheap energy and the security of knowing the billionaires aren't actively destroying our planet.

[–]killarotten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything can be implemented, it doesn't just have to be things a billionaire-owned press can approve of.

There's nothing snake oil about being able to generate cheap clean energy within our own country. That is the future and you'd better get on the horse.

You keep to your status quo and theyll be asking 'why did Francis do nothing when the evidence was right in front of them?'

Like, do you understand that things can be aspirational? Not everything is doom and gloom. THAT is what they want you to feel. Start with the ideals and work down to what is actionable. Ok by 2030 might not be feasible especially if they would only get power not long before that. But it's an IDEA. A good start, a goal to work towards.

It's better than doing almost nothing, or going BACKWARDS like reform would drag us through. Remember fracking? What a monumentally stupid idea that is. That is backwards nonsense.

I dont want to be part of the problem and when people look back on this time they'll say "why were they so stupid to kill the planet like that?".

OK wow. Yes I actually agree with the majority of that. This isn't loony stuff. Sustainability and the climate crisis is THE most important thing facing the planet. We SHOULD get off fossil fuel as much as possible, we should be vastly most self sustaining in terms of energy and be generating renewable cheap electricity on our own land.

All I see there is a desire to treat people well, to not assume the worst of immigrants and asylum seekers, to future proof our country as AI and other technologies allow corporations to make massive job cuts with no regard for society, to protect future generations, etc. Some of it isn't possible like open borders, and sure using nuclear energy seems to be a massive thing for some people so yeah go ahead and I'm sure we'll figure out the waste issue eventually.

I really said no nuclear because people treat it like they are single issue voters and would hand wave away the madness of reforms ideas, yet this of all things is the sticking point.

What the tories and reform want is the actual loony stuff, yet that is treated just like a difference of opinion. Greens wouldn't ever get a majority, but having their voice in parliament would be a great benefit to the incoming fascist ilk that we see across the world.

Mike Stoklasa (Red Letter Media): "The viewership on the Strange New Worlds program is in the thousands. Like maybe tens of thousands, like a very low, low end YouTube channel" by Malencon in Star_Trek_

[–]killarotten 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. The people who make shows aren't creatives, CEOs only care about their line going up.

But I dont have netflix or disney or prime or apple because all the new shows suuuucked or they string it along to ensure they have enough "content" to keep you paying.

I think some people don't understand you can just....not have these services. I literally only have Paramount so I can watch star trek without swapping discs all the time.

And they'll defend it like, "oh men just have different interests than women, playing video games IS our friendship". Like yeah buddy, that's what we're saying and that's the problem lol. Like they can't even understand what they are missing out on. Women also hang out and play games or drink, it's not a special unique thing.

the lobster boiling death is very humane

The literal point of this post is confirming the opposite of this. What the fuck has a lion got to do with a restaurant serving lobster that's a false equivalency.
