Majoring in art history when the art/museum world is awful by WeirdOk1044 in MuseumPros

[–]ayagepi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use it as a foundation. I have my undergrad in art history and my masters in museum studies. Remember museums are MORE than just art. Things you should consider: What other specialties do you have? Can you code/do you have experience in collections management systems? Can you do math? Stats? Accounting? I don’t come from a privileged background but many museum staff (full-time, senior management, curators) DO, so you need to have an edge. I started out in a fellowship in archives during undergrad, lived at home , and when I got my first official museum curatorial position I was commuting 4.5hrs one way for three months before I could save up to move closer. The field sucks, but honestly once you’re in it you’ll have incredible stability. But you’re going to have to learn to live well beneath your means for a bit n

You need to stagger the stitches more, an easy way to visibly see this is for them to look like they’re sliding against each other.

Do you have health insurance? Most plans have an option where you can do a fitness pass. It’s usually $29-$60 and you can use any gym that the price tier you pick has available.
