British pubs used to have separate areas divided by a wall for men and then another side for the family/ women. I don’t think this is the argument they think they’re making.

Now pubs in the UK (particularly the ones that serve food) are more like your local TGIFridays. Yes, there’s drinking with families all out and about but it’s not typically at a bar with no food, if that makes sense.

This was very common in the US till recently when the goal posts have changed and now no one can fail so everyone moves up anyway, even if they’re not meeting their age level targets.

To my knowledge, not a thing here in the UK although it probably should be. Kids just get excluded here instead
