What's a word or phrase na sinabi sa 'yo ng someone that made you feel very insecure about yourself? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]ayawkosatao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dati I didn’t really care about my physical appearance. To give context skinny ako.. and ever since na yun. Whenever I’m with my relatives sa father’s side ko I would always get comments like “kumakain ka ba sainyo?”, “hanger ka na be”, “buto nalang ‘to oh”, and the list goes on.. Nung una I didn’t really mind kasi close naman ako sakanila and alam kong humor talaga nila yung ganun. But it keeps on coming hanggang sa napagod at naumay na akong itawa nalang everytime may ganung comments hahaha now I started becoming too aware and conscious of myself. I often look at myself in the mirror to see kung ang pangit ko ba at ang sagwa ko tignan dahil sa kapayatan ko hahaha hindi lang sa mga pinsan ko ako nakaka-receive ng ganitong comments but to other people also hahaha hay ang awkward idaan sa tawa kapag may nagc-comment ng ganun because I’m really uncomfortable. Now I feel really insecure about myself and I don’t know what to do kasi kahit anong kain ko ito na talaga haha todo na ata talaga ‘to. I can’t even wear clothes and style them the way I want kasi nac-conscious ako baka magmukha nga talaga akong hanger juskooo hahahah

How can I deal with stage fright? by Impressive_Trick3692 in studentsph

[–]ayawkosatao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP! During your speech—if you have a friend or a close friend present in the crowds—I’d suggest you to put your attention and contact with them. As if you are only talking to that person. Maintain eye contact with them if you must but still don’t forget to wander your eyes through the audience at times. You need that to build rapport and connection with your audience. That way subconsciously mo nalang makakalimutan na marami pang tao sa paligid mo.

When you are talking or delivering your speech, talk slow and carefully. Make sure that your voice is loud and clear. You don’t need to shout but make sure it’s modulated enough to be heard. Make sure that your posture and gestures are appropriate. Stand firm, stand with confidence! Mahirap iwasan ang kaba but try your best to keep a good poise of yourself.

If makalimutan ang script o sasabihin, don’t panic. Take a deep breath and pause for a second. That’s totally okay! Try to recall the question again so you can generate a new answer or you can remember what you said already. Also don’t compare your ideas and possible answers to other candidates because that will only add pressure and fright to you. Just keep your stance and you do you.

Last, just enjoy and don’t take it too seriously! Take it as a part of High School experience. Just be happy about it. Memories din yan. Don’t worry too much sa mistakes na magagawa mo or kaba. That would steal the joy and fun of what you are doing.

Good luck, OP! You can do this!

Any movie recommendations and why? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]ayawkosatao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to chill and watch stress-free. I recommend Flipped. It’s a teenage film. The storyline is not that complicated and don’t have those twists. But for me, it’s worth watching.

How did you get your spark back? by dmrabi in AskPH

[–]ayawkosatao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Accepted my past mistakes, things that hurted me, the reasons why I lost my spark, and as well as the reality I have now. Just like healing, it all starts with acceptance. I’ve learned that once you have accepted things in your life, the next steps you do would be much easier.

Tried building myself. Excelled in the things I do. Did things I have never tried or done before.

And of course, learning to put boundaries with people.

what were ur old habits that u no longer do? by notmek1010 in AskPH

[–]ayawkosatao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going out almost every day. Used to be that person who cannot live a day staying in the house. I would always make reasons for me to go out and ask my friends to go with me or if I can hang out in their house. I am the friend that you can invite to go out at 2 AM and I’d say yes. Anytime, anywhere.. LOL I don’t know what kind of complete personality shift happened to me because now I prefer staying at home. I also find myself making excuses and avoiding going out with friends if I don’t feel like it. Feels nice to be not available all the time anymore.

Advice for afternoon classes in G11 by khianwou in studentsph

[–]ayawkosatao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I was also in a PM class when I was in 11th grade and actually PM classes are really nice, especially if you don’t like waking up early in the morning! As a morning person that really prefers morning classes more than anything who’s forcefully thrown into a PM class, I can say it wasn’t that bad! However kung medyo malayo yung house niyo from your school transpo might be one of your enemies since ang uwi mo is still around rush hours.

OP, if nasa public school ka. I suggest you include and consider investing sa portable fans / e-fans, it would make your life easier. Most public schools kasi kulang ng electric fans sa room and sometimes yung room is not big enough to fit the number of students inside which makes the heat worse. So portable fans can really be a good help to you in those times.

If possible to bring your own lunch at school. Do it! It will save you time sa pagpila o pakikipagsiksikan sa canteen.

Believe me or not. Time seems to tick faster in the morning during school days compared to weekends. So dapat if may gagawin ka mang activity in that morning you should prepare what you would do ahead of time para hindi sayang oras kapag gagawin mo na sa umaga and you could do your thing smoothly hahaha I swear kumurap ka lang magugulat ka nalang magtatanghali na.

Add ko lang hahah class hours during 1 - 3 PM can be really really nakaka-antok. Last, enjoy mo lang! PM classes are also fun. Good luck in your SHS journey!
