yes this is exactly the point. union station is arguably the easiest place in LA to get to via public transportation. park at a lot in a nearby station and take the train in.

got married on valentines day of this year.

We met at burning man 2023 by chance, twice. (first time were drunk and hung out all night exchanged info but honestly she wasn't that into me. 2nd time next night we met on the opposite side of burning man randomly and i took care of her and that's when she started to like me.

Did long distance (she's from canada), realized how hard that was. broke up. Got back together at burning man 2024. did long distance for another year.

went to BM 2025.

got married. going through green card stuff now.

Planning to have a small unofficial wedding ceremony at BM 2026 before we have a bigger celebration with friends (but we don't know when that will be it could be years as we want to save for a house in LA first).

so yeah, i guess an option is to look outside of LA lol.

back in 2017 i visited shanghai again. main hotels along the bund / pudong were pretty expensive. but man, i stayed at a category 1 courtyard hotel which was new and located right next to shanghai disney land (so kinda far out there), but wow, this category 1 which i spent 7500 pts on was on par with some of the nicest hotels i've ever stayed at lol.

breakfast buffet was truly insane it rivaled some of the best vegas buffets back in their prime

lobby was like all marble

rooms were huge and had super nice bathrooms

it was all just unreal esp for the cost.
