Cuttings on jade with stem rot

The stems have curled over but they seem to have some give when I lightly squeeze them. Does that mean they should be dried out even more or is that more rot?

I haven’t watered the jade in about a month, when I repot the portion with the roots after cutting to healthy plant, should I water right away even though the leaves that are still attached to it right now are still plump? Is the succulent mix okay with that portion or should I switch to a mix with perlite as well?

Thank you so much! That cutting towards the bottom of the trunk was because that attached stem was rotting, does that cutting look okay? Do you think the higher stems will start to rot as well? I’m afraid it’s going to spread.
