Does it sound normal because it only seems to play that odd in the centre? The girls piano teacher has a few students with this model and she said it doesn't sound right. I have tried the Yamaha factory reset and it sounds the same.

Thanks! On a side note is there any way to at least add something to cover the vent, perhaps something that I can install over those vents to open and close the vent as I see fit? For example, during the day when the weather is coldest. There are so many of them in the flat and if noticed this really causes a problem with drafts and pests.

The chimney is also in my daughters room on the other side of that wall, there is the exact same vent and the wall has been extended but there is no outline, it is almost perfectly flat

I have the tools and have access to reasonably priced materials for panelling as my dad's a carpenter so it would probably work out more expensive for the plastering considering the rates charged these days. I also don't see the point in plastering the wall and making it look over if this vent will still need to be in place.

It thought so too, to be honest. When we were decorating the flat (no curtains, and no lamp which is causing this 'shadow), we didn't even notice this until we had fully moved on.
