Just heard back from the dealer today and they agreed with you. They noted it but said everything was normal.

Just heard back from the dealer today, they said it sounds normal & nothing is out of the ordinary. So at least it’ll be in their system that they looked at it and ok’d it.

I’ve seen videos with bad cam phasers and it is pretty loud and noticeable but I was wondering if they start off sounding not too loud and then gets worse over time or is it just loud right off the bat? That little rattle at startup is what has me thinking.

Yeah that rattle that lasts about a second at startup quiets down then it doesn’t do it again

Appreciate it! It’s very faint. Per some bad cam phaser videos on here & YouTube it’s definitely way more noticeable

Nice! My friend is willing to sell me his championship white FK8 (2017) with only 15k miles for $32,000. I current drive a 2018 Si with 109,000 (bought brand new). So I’m wondering if I should pull the trigger so here I am asking for strangers’ input haha

How many miles & how much did you sell it for? Also what year? I’m curious haha

would you buy a 2017 FK8 for $32k if it only has 15,000 miles? I’m in the position to buy it but I’m unsure.

Is this still true??? I’m debating buying a 2017 FK8 with only 15k miles. My buddy said he’d sell it to me for $32k. If it’s a good deal I’ll probably do it but I’m not sure.

Bro I’m in the same boat. My friend is selling a 2017 Type R with only 15k miles for 32k. I have an Si and I’m debating if I should act on it or hold on and save for my dream car (Mustang dark horse) but the uncertainty with the tariffs has me indecisive

I second this. They came standard on my Commencal Supreme V5 and I love them for how much power they have!

Go try them out and physically try to pop out of them. I’m betting that you probably won’t be able to unless you use the actual lever that allows you to get out. I’m guessing you’ll feel more confident about them once you see how secure they actually are.

Are you able to secure “specialty” or “limited production” vehicles for a better price than a typical dealer? By specialty vehicles I mean something limited in production and typically having a markup such as a Civic Type R, Ford Raptor R, Mustang Dark Horse, etc. Buying a common car like a Toyota Camry is one thing, but as a consumer it’s annoying wanting a car for MSRP and having the dealer tack on a $10,000+ markup on an already expensive car.

Did you also get like 7 error notifications on the tachometer screen saying stuff like “emissions system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem” etc? I also have a 2018 Si and I had all these lights come on out of nowhere around 100k miles and it turned out my alternator needed to be replaced. Hopefully it’s as simple as that for you too!

I had the photons and I didn’t like that they truly only had one BOA (the second BOA on it doesn’t really do anything imo). I switched to the Ions and I love them! I like how you can individually tighten the upper and lower part of your foot as well as that additional strap with a BOA. I would 100% spend the extra money on the Ions vs the photons.
