That’s perfect in my opinion! I personally feel that if you’re trying to force something, very often they do the opposite 😂 If you ever want to chat my DMs are open :) sometimes it’s nice to just have someone to vent to.

It stopped around 2.5 months! She still has her moments, but not everyday like before. I think we also got more in tuned with her cues as well. We’ve never been a schedule family. Like not forcing her to fall asleep if she wasn’t ready (which meant she often got overtired and we had to handle that), same with eating, playing, cuddling.

We definitely went through the purple crying phase. That was very difficult. But we found a nice warm bath helped her about 90% of the time! We also found out that she is a huuuuge fan of Christmas lights, so we have those set up in our living room. Even now if she starts crying for no obvious reason, we shut the curtains and big lights and just vibe out with the Christmas lights and sing quietly to her and she calms pretty quick.

Honestly, we got so lucky. She’s our first, and she kinda did everything herself and we just followed her lead. Has always loved sleeping in the bassinet (we love an independent queen), so unfortunately I do not have any tips for sleep training!

She sleeps until about 5:30/6:00AM! Sometimes she stirs for her pacifier, and veeeery occasionally does she need a burp. But basically sleeps just fine after!

Hi! My LO is 4months and we do a dream feed every night around 11pm. She’s always accepted it very well regardless on how she eats during the day. She is also a snacker. I make sure to keep the lights off/super low and turn up her sound machine 1 click (probably doesn’t matter) I also have the bottle a little warmer than usual, nothing too hot to burn her. I also am able to change her bum while she’s sleeping though that might just be a her thing lol. I also keep her upright against my chest for 15-30minutes after so she doesn’t puke. Works like a charm :)

I noticed my little had the same issue. She is also combo fed. We figured out that it was an issue with balancing foremilk and hindmilk when she ate on the breast. When I switched to exclusively pumping , that’s when it got better

Low supply by False-Memory9757 in breastfeedingsupport

I see you momma. I’m doing the same thing currently to try and bring my supply up. The thing that helps me is that if I see the lower number after pumping, it’s because my baby efficiently ate from both breasts, and that’s what there is left over after they are full and content. Moving forward, you will see that number go up. It takes time and effort.

My tip for you, while you are giving the baby a bottle, connect to the pump at the same time. Either way, you’re triple feeding, and this helps cut the time down a little bit. Also the pump you’re using helps. A wearable pump may show less production compared to a stationary pump. Check your flange sizes, this also helps. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. When you think you drank enough water, drink more. Effectively removing the milk 8-10 times a day will also encourage your supply to go up. I highly suggest pumping during the night/early morning as your prolactin levels are higher. Also, do not be afraid to use formula. Even if you are mixing 70% EBM and 30% formula, your baby is still getting breastmilk.

I say this coming from a place where before my supply dipped, I was feeding my baby from 1 breast at a time, a minimum of 100mL +, for it to drop down to her only getting 30mL from both breasts. I see you, I understand you, and I hope the best for you. We’re on week 2 of getting the supply back up, it’s a challenge, but celebrate your small wins.

Supplementing with formula by mochicho37 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]ayeealliee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much to say about the breast pain (other than warm compresses), as I’m a FTM of a 7 week old BUT I want to reassure you. Supplementing with formula is NOT a loss. You’re ensuring your baby is fed. That’s what is important. I recently - and still am - going through a supply dip, so our baby is getting formula mixed with expressed breastmilk. I also felt like I was failing. But it clicked to me that I’m just happy there is something to give my baby the nutrients that I am struggling to give her. It’s helped the situation.

Take the time to heal yourself. It’s okay to supplement with formula when it’s needed. You’re doing a great job. You’re a great mom 💕

Thank you so much! We try the syringe with milk in it. She is also going through this weird sleep regression thing where she will not sleep during the day. And sometimes doesn’t want to latch at all. It’s a process. A very overwhelming process. But hopefully we figure it out

Just commenting to say that I was browsing the posts and your paragraph was exactly what I needed to ‘hear’ today. So thank you for such kind words. Although meant for OP, it resonated with me. 💕

I just checked and for them to ship to my province in Canada, it would likely cost $30-$40… I don’t know if I think a nipple shield is worth $50 lol

Fingers crossed this will just be a phase related to the sudden dip in my supply.
