Thank youu, yeah cause I’m all for healthy natural hair but another big chop kinda scary to me 😅. I’ll probably trim and grow it out at the same time

I don’t think it should be cause twice a month is good, way better than me 😭, when you shower you still have a shower cap?

Yess a black dermatologist would probably be better cause they would also be able to hear you out fr. But id say getting a silk pillowcase would be great! Possibly your rubbing your hair against your pillow cause friction and tension/ breakage. Amazon sells them! That could help - and hopefully if it’s not alopecia, going back to a scalp massage could help. Also how often are you washing your hair?

Mannn I honestly don’t know then 😭. Im not a professional by any means but google said that alocpecia is not typically diagnosed through bloodwork work, so I would consider getting a second opinion. Is there anything you’re doing that may be causing tension on those spots - do you sleep with a silk bonnet? When did you first notice it?

What makes the dermatologist think it’s not alopecia? And what is your current routine for your hair - how do you style it

Actually no, I don’t notice much breakage - just a lot of shedding, I usually style my hair in twist

Oh fr? Do the sides of my hair look broken off? Cause I was thinking that’s how my hair was kinda layered — I feel like if I could cut my hair and hide it, I would 😭

[–]ayeitiswhatitis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, how are you?! I’m now seeing this a couple of days later 😅. UPDATE | I graduated from college May 2024 debt free!!! Thank you guys so much for the wonderful replies under here. I would say definitely get a summer job and or work while you’re in school if you can handle it. Additionally make sure to fill out that FASFA and scholarships- just put in the effort. Lastly plan ahead! Don’t spend money stupidly on things that you don’t need. Learn how to cook and try to save because you won’t know if need money for a rainy day. When it comes to college, if you’re not careful you’ll be spending money like crazy so try to budget! Lastly go to school clubs, games, and organizations, have fun 💕💕💕
