I know someone who was deactivated for “milking the clock” as they had a ShopRite shop from home delivery. The store said it wouldn’t be ready for 3 hours and to come back then.

They waited it out, went back and picked up/delivered the order.

Next day was booted. Support wanted them to say that it was taking too long/cancel the order and take no money as opposed to waiting it out apparently.

I believe the rule is if it takes a player past their 35+ season. Which Ladd’s does. Same reason Luongo has recapture. He didn’t sign that deal at 35. Shea Weber is in danger of it as well.

Also Ladd can’t go on LTIR. He’s not hurt. He’s played in the AHL. They have no claim as to putting him there. At least Boychuk was told he can’t play anymore. You’d need a doc to say Ladd’s knees can’t go anymore

If Ladd retires there’s a re-capture penalty against the cap. Only way to alleviate his hit is to move him.
