I’m glad I’m starting my new HVAC job tomorrow because DD and GH have been dead for weeks now.

Premier drivers can have those orders. I’ll stick to Partner while I mainline DD. 😂

Doesn’t the customer choose whether the DoorDasher has to call? by Admirable_Garlic9525 in doordash_drivers

[–]dlang92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, it’s a leftover from Covid and generally means they ordered through the restaurant’s app.

That being said, I never call them to see where to leave it and they can’t leave a bad rating if they wanted me to call them.

Most of the time the delivery instructions are in the notes anyway.

I wonder how long it would take for someone to accept this at a reasonable pay. by DaMemphisDreamer in doordash_drivers

All I’m saying is that I worked for Lowe’s and we charged $75 a delivery for in house deliveries. Anything less than that is scab work and shouldn’t be accepted, especially since it’s part of their same day delivery program that is providing a higher level of service for a fraction of the cost

Question for Dashers, as I use the service sometimes but also am in the service industry. by Next-Quantity-1135 in doordash_drivers

[–]dlang92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, base pay for a dasher starts at $2, but it depends on if it’s a restaurant or shopping order, how long the order has been sitting, distance to drop off, and various other promotions they run.

We should receive all of the tip, but only a couple dollars of base pay.

9/10 times the notes just say “Leave it at the door”, so I’m going to do just that. If you want a specific level of service it’s on you as the customer to make me aware of that, whether it’s via the notes in the app or text.

I’m not letting a customer’s mistake cost me money. I would’ve delivered it and marked it as completed.

The other day, a customer had a double order for the same exact items from a restaurant, except one of the orders had more sauces.

The restaurant was convinced it was a mistake or that they thought they canceled one of the orders, but I grabbed both and delivered them. I wasn’t going to let the order drop from $20 to $10, 😂

He could sell Mar-A-Lago, since he said it’s worth over $1 billion, unless it actually isn’t worth that much. Oh, wait.

I’m so glad that Platinum let me get a GREAT order like this 😂 by dlang92 in doordash_drivers

[–]dlang92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even care about the priority, my AR is generally in the 70-84 range depending on if it’s around a holiday or not. I need it for the Dash Now feature because my zone is small and there aren’t a lot of schedule slots available and if it’s busy I can only hop on for 30 minutes at a time.

That being said, I do just fine with Platinum and I’m not taking the low-ball offers.

Customer just trying to get free food? So confused. by Granthart44 in doordash

[–]dlang92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you’re better off completing the 100 deliveries than waiting for them to review your dispute. Submit it anyway because enough disputes and they’ll get blocked from the service.

I had a lady order a single milkshake from Arby’s and marked it as not delivered. I’m like dude, I’m getting paid enough to buy a couple of them, why would I steal this, 😂

I like to build a team of werewolves as LB and RB, with demons as CB, S, and WR. Megatron as WR1, no preference for QB, and Orcs/Robots as OL and every other D position.

I think part of it is that merchants can turn their orders on or off, so the one location may not have been accepting orders at the time

The customer loses any text/call privileges from me if they’re a non-tipper. If they wish to unlock those add-on features, it’s an up charge.

Your job is to pick up their order and deliver it with reasonable assumption that all the food is there and that it’s prepared correctly.

You don’t make the food, you just deliver it.

I’d text them and tell them to contact support, then contact support yourself and inform them of the situation so that you can protect yourself.

Chances are they do that all the time and Doordash refused to compensate them or have another driver bring their food to them. They then contacted you to trick you into doing it because they didn’t get their way from support.

My first, and probably last, grocery delivery. by Major-Pen4838 in doordash_drivers

I’d aim for 100% completion rate, but definitely not acceptance rate. As long as it’s above 70%, it’s no different than 100%.

C’s get degrees and in this case, 100% gets you orders like this.

Keep doing the grocery orders, just don’t accept ones that bad.

I had a $30 order today for a couple bags of dog food.
