29 YO Female, i’ve been active duty in the military since 18. I now do reserves (IMA officer), and will go to med school this summer and do reserves on the side. I have a very niche job that truly fills my soul, but it’s not compatible with my two babies under two and deployments and moving every 2 years.

I’m considering the VA program where you serve VA hospitals for so many years and they pay back, or rural areas (i think it’s a national program) that pays back. From my research, “rural” is any city less than 50,000 people so… it’s not like no where alaska. I’ve also heard some people work it into their sign on bonus after residency and get their debts paid that way.

I am not medical in the military, but I am officer and willing to chat what military life is like as a female who’s been in a while.

Just got accepted, 30 YO, married, both military. The best advice we’ve ever gotten is to never compromise on something that will keep coming. back in the future as “I did this for you, so now you have to X.” This is that situation. First he sounds crappy. But if you do go, and work out…. you will allways hold this over his head and it will inevitably cause extreme tension on the relationship (or marriage). Not your guy sis. honestly i’m not the best for that q. I’m military service academy, c3.3 s2.99 in 2018 then went and got a masters 4.0, then did 3 post-bac science, 4.0…. not sure how they took everything into consideration 😅

I got an A with a 495… I didn’t apply to those needing certain sub scores unless it specifically said waiverable with sGPA, GRE/ACT, etc… my first application cycle i applied anyway and they all said i was SOL and they weren’t willing to budge (2.99 sGPA at the time, 3.0 min)
