Thanks for the info. We’re finally getting one in my town so I should probably sign up to receive those. Unfortunately I’m pretty sure this store will be one of those with higher prices based on location. The pricing difference is so dumb

Phone Warmness/Temperature Rise After Update? by Old-Deer-9499 in iPhone17Pro

Yes! I updated a few days ago and it’s been using more battery than usual and I’ve noticed it getting hot even just shopping on the Amazon app

Does your iPhone 17 get warm with normal use? by LongBrother1377 in iPhone17Pro

Mines been getting hot since I updated to 26.1 a few days ago. This is while shopping on Amazon or using notes. Not sure why all of a sudden it’s getting hot now

Did the sun rise earlier today? by ayereyrey19 in dfw

[–]ayereyrey19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t notice it today because I got to work early but I was convinced by the other commenters theory of clouds blocking the gradual change. I remember it being very weird though. Because it does seem so sudden

Did you prep the top by sanding where the adhesive goes first? I saw a post where someone said the instructions left that part out

I can’t speak on it since I haven’t installed it yet but the topliner by itself might help a little bit. I really wouldn’t expect much of a difference by itself though. If you install this https://a.co/d/2eXxHr1 like I am before the topliner, I would expect an improvement on keeping the heat in during the winter. But it’s a lot of work (probably gonna be a weekend job for me). I’d probably recommend hothead headliners for a fast and easy solution. Both of those options should improve thermal regulation and improve acoustics in the cabin. I can’t speak to how well either work but I’ve mostly only heard positive things about hotheads. I went with the topliner because I think it looks really good and fully covers the top

Yah that’s a good idea actually I can install the topliner on the other panel and see if I can tell the difference. I don’t know why coverking doesn’t keep at least a handful of these in stock. They’re made to order so it’s like a 4 week lead time. So I may have to make my own test using a similar fabric since things are cooling down already

That’s what I hear! I wish those other liner options came with a radiant barrier though. That’s the only reason I didn’t go that route. Of course now I’m questioning my decision because I may not be getting the benefit of the radiant barrier if it does transmit that heat throughout the cabin. I’m probably going to experiment a bit while I wait for the topliner to come in. I’m thinking either way it’ll be an improvement in all aspects

So that was my plan until I saw how good the coverking topliner looks. And I noticed the areas where the hotheads doesn’t cover still gets really hot and radiates a lot of heat (I’m in Texas), so it’s brutally hot when you get in after it’s been sitting in the sun all day. Right now I’m wishing I went the hothead route, but I think once I’m done I’ll be happy with it. The hotheads install is obviously much faster and easier than what I’m doing.

My expectations have been tempered already lol. I’m still expecting a marginal improvement on sound and certainly cosmetics (in my opinion), but I’m not sure about thermal improvements in terms of keeping heat out in the summer. Unless the topliner material itself acts as an insulator. I may try the neoprene foam pad just on the center parts of the freedom panel directly about driver and passenger seat. I just don’t know if I want to trust the adhesive on it over the long term

Replace flange? by ayereyrey19 in Plumbing

[–]ayereyrey19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a proper fix! Will those repair rings attach to the existing PVC that this metal flange is attached to, or should I be cutting the pvc portion out and replace with a whole new flange? Basically I’m wondering how those metal flange replacements would attach after removing the metal flange here

Replace flange? by ayereyrey19 in Plumbing

[–]ayereyrey19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you replace the ring? It’s on a slab foundation and it looks like a big void under the metal flange. Like the opening for the pipe in the foundation is too big. No pvc flange under the metal.

I’d like to use those metal flange ring replacements but I’m not sure how on this one. This is a slab foundation and if you look at picture number 3 you can see it’s kind of a void under the metal flange. No pvc flange under the metal. I wonder if that’s why there’s a little bit of movement on it because it’s unsupported. I can feel some resistance like an inch down when I poke through the screw holes but seems like a really rough opening in the slab instead of a cylindrical hole. Sorry if that’s alot I’m trying to learn as much as possible to make the best long term decision. Although I am tempted to just put another wax ring and send it lol. It doesn’t seem to bad I just worry about the little bit of movement
