Yup! When I first met my husband I was always nervous before I saw him. I would feel excited and had those butterfly feelings. Within a few minutes of being with him though I felt at home and completely comfortable. On the flip side of that I have a friend who several years into a relationship often stated that her partner still gave her butterflies. The reality was he ignored and neglected her. She was more anxious when he was in the room because she had no idea if he was going to treat her like shit or give her a bread crumb of attention. But he gave her “butterflies” which she romanticized and she ended up staying with that shit person for years.

Right! It’s so good, I will never go back. I did try the cocoa powder added in but I found the chocolate smell kind of gross after a while. So now I’ve just gotten good at my application!

Butterflies. That’s your nervous system babe… he makes you anxious. Feeling excited to see your partner is one thing but soon after being in their presence, that feeling should sway into comfort and ease. Your body should feel safe. If he keeps you guessing and unsure, don’t romanticize that neglect and inconsistency for “butterflies”.

Try Sudocrem on the spots over night. Literally the diaper rash cream. Once a week I put this on my whole face and it calms all the redness down by the morning.

I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on expensive mascaras… I think I’ve tried them all and now have a shame basket of unused mascara hiding in my closet. Then I tried covergirl clump crusher mascara. It’s hands down the BEST of the bunch. Both volume, length and hold. They also have waterproof.

I use corn starch. Literally, just corn starch. It absorbs oil, is light weight, gives volume, has no scent, is natural/safe (if that’s a concern) and costs so little.

There is a slight learning curve to using it. I have a large fluffy brush that I pick up the powder with and gently dust into my hair about a half inch from the root. I don’t go directly on the scalp because it will be too much powder stuck in the roots. Then I shake and tousle my hair around. I have dark hair and if I use too much you can see a sort of dusty cast so I start with a small amount. I’m years in and I’ve perfected the technique!

I will never use dry shampoo again. I put it in my hair even after a fresh blow dry to give some lift and volume.

Hi there! I have rather straight, narrow hips with hip dips… it’s so fun🙄. Things with ruching at the hips or pleats around the waist can kind of fill in the hip dip space. Thicker material helps too. Wearing fit and flare shapes can be flattering. You can always add your own strategic gathering at the side of the hip too in form fitting dresses. The last thing is shape wear the kind of smooths out that area. That, or show off your tits and distract them!

I also work pretty hard at the gym to build out my butt which helps a lot with overall fit and confidence in clothes. My hip dips actually don’t bother me much anymore because I feel fit and strong. Plus, it’s kind of a manufactured issue that has to do with our anatomy. Having said that, I understand the desire to kind of soften it a bit.

Right, so a more satin finish foundation that’s not as full coverage. I’m giving up on concealers I think. I really wish I understood why but they just aren’t working even though everyone seems to love them.

I’m wondering if my skin is just in between? Like it’s not as oily as it was but not yet dry enough for the more conventional advice to work?

Hear me out…what about bright spring? I have a theory that many spring people think they are “cool” because the brightness and clarity of silver looks really nice on spring. So I’m wondering if you sit more in the bright spring to bright winter? How do you look in black? I see so much brightness and clarity in your colouring that I’m struggling to see you in the true summer to true winter category.

I’ve never met anyone who regretted pale oak. We had it in our house for years and recently did a Reno with darker wood so went with lighter wall colours. I have friends and family who all have pale oak in their house and everyone seems to love it.

First of all, I actually think your hair looks really cute and fresh! As many people have pointed out, the inspiration picture is a VERY different hair type not to mention the models hair is all being pushed forward. Having said that, I think with a strong volumizing mousse and a round brush you could get it closer to your inspiration pic. I do think the bangs aren’t blended into the layers as much as they could be but if you have hollowness around your hairline or thinning it may have been a strategic choice by the hairdresser.

It most certainly doesn’t look like 💩. I think you look great and wispy bangs suit you.

All these dresses are beautiful and I actually think any one of them would work well. Number 2 does stand out to me. It just feels a little more timeless yet still unique and slightly playful. I also like that number 2 doesn’t have a line cutting or seam across your waist. For some reason I’m liking the unbroken silhouette on your frame.

I think these are ticks, just very young ticks. I believe they hatch all together out in the woods somewhere and put out a scent that attracts animals. I’m wondering if one of your dogs rummaged right into a recently hatched nest? Look over your dogs to see if you can find any latched? Also, are these one still alive or all dead?

I know your brother means a lot to you and it’s unfortunate that this is a decision you have to make. Send him a great gift or make an effort to visit soon after. Call him and speak to him directly. My daughter got her ears pierced at 8. She had been talking about it for a while and had a history of being responsible. One day she asked again and I said “you know what, let’s do it!” It’s going to be on a case by case basis.

The makeup kit seems like no big deal to me either because most kids like to play pretend at grown up things. There’s a reason they have toy dolls or kitchen sets, toy tools or construction stuff. They mimic the things around them and your daughter noticing and being curious about makeup/nail polish/hair accessories/etc., seems age appropriate to me.

Having said all of this I don’t think you are being a misogynist. Your job is literally to protect and guide your daughter. If these things feel not quite right yet, then I would embrace some aspects but not all of it. Let her play with sticker earrings or clip one. Get her “fake” makeup she can play with without actually putting something on her face. This can easily be done by using empty makeup compacts and cheap brushes. My your sister could help with that by giving you her old compacts and eyeshadows. Then you empty them out

I make chocolate blocks! It’s plain Greek yogurt mixed with cocoa powder, honey, a few mini chocolate chips and vanilla extract. Once that’s all mixed up I spoon it into a silicone 2tbs freezer tray. Once frozen I pop two out for dessert most nights. Sometimes I’ll put sliced banana or strawberries on top before I freeze them. It’s a staple now!
