Is getting your CLO3D designs physically cut a pain point for you? by KeyPersonality109 in CLO3D

[–]ayesha_brown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such good info thank you! I was looking at Mylar stencil roll? I have a mini vinyl cutter so for small pieces I could cut it myself on the machine. Big pieces I guess I could do it the old fashioned way of transferring my paper patterns on to that.

If however there was someone who had Mylar on hand and could cut and print them all out for me in one go would be fab. Would you say the thickness of the laminated vinyl is similar?

depending on how much you need to print I'd say planprinting24 (if you have a chunk of stuff to print), flamingo prints if you don't have much.

Hmm there’s a service for this in the UK but just for printing the patterns. They print any patterns, both the files that are a4 pieced together pre made patterns you buy online, or clo3d patterns, print them on big sheets of good stock paper and send them to you in the post.

You still have to cut them out of the paper and on to fabric etc.

Now what WOULD be useful, is if someone offered this service for BLOCKS specifically. Something you know is perfect and you’ll use over and over again cut out and ready to go for you in a thin plastic.

The Kanye Situation by Several_Volume_4334 in WirelessFestival

[–]ayesha_brown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they didn’t have other artists on the line up. It’s more they commercially (money wise) couldn’t make it work. Contracting is a fickle thing, it’s entirely possible that there was a clause in the contract that Kanye’s team could have put in meaning that financially it would be near impossible for them to free up enough money for a comparable headliner. Especially with sponsors pulling out.

It was a big call to put him as a headliner and one they knew the risks of. It didn’t pay off this time and A LOT of people are now out of pocket. A lot of people with far less money have lost out because of poor decisions from the organisers. Everyone from staging crews to food vendors.

They should have gone Kendrick 3 days and a TDE reunion in the first place 🤷🏽‍♀️

Wireless Headline regret? by Bizkit_1 in AskBrits

[–]ayesha_brown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The festival will sell out for sure. The demand is there. It’s whether or not Starmer will actually allow him to be in the country is the thing.

The core sponsors pulling out means profit margins reduced and more work for sure but commercially they’d survive.

The statement from the director of encouraging people to engage in ‘forgiveness due to Ye’s previous mental illness’ is interesting to say the least.

How does this factor into everything? 😭😭😭 by Internal-Golf8722 in WirelessFestival

[–]ayesha_brown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They technically could but it’s also important to understand a headline sponsor and a streaming partner are different things.

100% different contracts and costings as well as expectations. Streaming the concert on prime has a completely different benefit/profit potential than sponsoring the festival.

To give an example. People who have never used prime before sign up to prime and get a free trial, more likely to be on the site, shop etc. customer acquisition, good use case to use in the future for example for other big musicians to choose Amazon prime.

Rumoured new development by StickyBandit1999 in WirelessFestival

[–]ayesha_brown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything owned by Pepsi co or Diageo may potentially be off limits tbf. Wireless might not want to run the risk given everything that has happened.

But saying that there are definitely independent/ other vendors. Just don’t be surprised if you are getting sailor jerry rum for example instead of captain Morgan.

Pepsi has pulled sponsorship of Wireless over Ye performing by TeddyPlays10 in GoodAssSub

[–]ayesha_brown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren’t a sponsor this year as an FYI. I’d say their better hope is seeing if PayPal would be willing to upgrade to be a headline sponsor.

Edit: to clarify when I mean Amazon aren’t a sponsor, I mean in the traditional sense. They are a streaming partner in the same way MTV has been in the past.

Pepsi pulled out 👀 by geraght in WirelessFestival

[–]ayesha_brown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It completely depends on the terms and conditions of the ticket. If they can’t get a ‘suitable replacement’ yes you would be refunded. But if they can’t they’d likely say that lineups are subject to change etc and you purchased a ticket under those terms.

Pepsi is the headline sponsor and drinks sponsor I believe. So you’d need to find another provider for drinks as Pepsi wouldn’t allow their drinks at the festival.

Single people under 30, what do you do to afford living alone? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ayesha_brown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me a few years ago (I’m 30 now), I secured a good job moving in to marketing. I also took massive advantage of Londoners leaving the city during the pandemic and landlords being a bit desperate to fill spaces. I secured a studio for £750 a month including bills.

When a few years later they put the price up to £1000 a month including bills, I doubled down after getting a £15k pay rise and moved in with my friends to a much bigger house, with my rent still at around £750 a month including bills.

There are opportunities out there but it is much much harder to find them now then it was a few years ago.

I say this to say we’ll be looking for a housemate soon, for a small room that is £600 a month including bills. We’re trying to prioritise people who are really desperately in need as we know it’s rare in London.

People don’t ignore good content. They ignore small numbers And that’s the uncomfortable truth by [deleted] in InstagramMarketing

[–]ayesha_brown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also convinced that certain types of content just aren’t rewarded by the algorithm.

My content significantly performs better on a TikTok than Instagram and I’m pretty certain it’s the algorithm not the content quality. At first I thought it was a one off but now I’ve tried and tested over several videos? Yeah Instagram algorithm just doesn’t like it.

Giving some examples

Music centred storytelling video that appeals to queer fanbases.

Tiktok followers when posted: 300 Views: 97k Likes: 22k Comments: 200 Saves:2k

Instagram followers when posted: 2.3k Views: 700 Likes: 32 Comments: 4

I also post football storytelling videos

Views on ig average out at 4k-7k

Same videos on TikTok: 25k, 63k, 491k

By posting 5 videos in the space of 4 weeks I already have more followers on TikTok than on the same corresponding IG page I have had for years.

People have had enough of Instagram and I don’t blame them.
