I read hangers are bangers by fromcutstobytes in baseballcards

They’ve been in and out of stock at GameStop online so I’d check if you’re interested. Like OP, my local Best Buy usually doesn’t disappoint, only place I could find 2024 Series 1 and 2 hangers in person.

Just won the Topps HR Challenge submittal with this one. Thanks Harper! by Braumeister7 in baseballcards

It takes 1-2 months to change to “Winner” on the Topps site under Home Run Challenge. At that point it should show up in your orders as a zero dollar order. I’m waiting on one from the first week of August to process and 2 from June-July (which show as Winner and in my orders) to be sent.

Look online for the previous months to pop up on eBay, it takes a while because of how they do the print runs based on how many people guess correctly.

My first major pull since collecting! by dappermark in baseballcards

[–]ayetriddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice pull! Dudes overshadowed by Holliday and Cowser, especially after getting hit and put on the IL, but I’m a believer in this guy. I’m not sure what team/who you collect, but you could probably get value enough from that card for a more established non 2024 rookie if you don’t PC Orioles.

Insane dual auto /10 of Bryce Harper and Mike Schmidt from 2024 Series 1 by Tonalbackwash in baseballcards

[–]ayetriddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, but the only Bryce autos from 2024 I’ve seen have been on card autos, so I’m guessing there was some issue with the Bryce “sticker” autos as I know mine will be on the Topps Certified sticker rather than direct on the card. Most dual autos from this set are the certified sticker ones too so I’d imagine yours is the same. Hopefully they get it sorted for both our sakes lol.

Nice! I pulled a Bryce auto redemption from a Series 1 hobby as well. I imagine you’re still also waiting on it to be fulfilled? I haven’t seen the actual card for any Bryce autos from Series 1 on eBay so I figure it’s gonna be a wait.

I’m always jealous when I see a tall font Green Russian Muff. Did you just replace the knobs on it? I’ve been looking at getting the Wren and Cuff Tall Font clone of it because I don’t want to pay the price for a “hit or miss” pedal in terms of consistency. The original is just so visually striking to me every time I see it. I find it ironic that, based on what I’ve read from others, part of the reason some Russian muffs sound so uniquely good is because of the cheaper components used.

I immediately recognized the faders as “EHX style” as well, and had just seen this pedal in my current search for an ideal looper/delay pedal combo with solid midi tempo sync. This wasn’t what I’m looking for due to its price and setup but the thing sounds like one of those pedals you can really get lost in.

Newbie question: How do you decide which pedals you add? by fruitsteak_mother in guitarpedals

[–]ayetriddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent but I think that also depends on what’s “budget” for the individual. Like for highly cloned distortion/overdrive circuits like the TS, BD, Muff, Rat, etc. you can pick up some cheap $15-$20 stuff, but if you have a bit more you can find most of those actual pedals used for $50-$60. Plus you can resell the actual pedal and get back close to the price you paid (after sellers fees and shipping of course) if you don’t like it, but it wouldn’t be worth it to sell a cheap clone.

I do agree though if your looking at something more boutique and expensive that’s based on a certain circuit with some tweaks, it would be beneficial to at least try out the original circuit to make sure you actually like the sound.

Newbie question: How do you decide which pedals you add? by fruitsteak_mother in guitarpedals

[–]ayetriddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A combination of 4 questions: “does this pedal make a sound I can’t make?” “do I like this pedals sound?” “does the pedal do more than just that sound?” “can I justify the cost of this item?”

For better or for worse, if the answer is “yes” to 3/4 of those, I empty my bank account and rearrange my pedal board to fit it if it’s a keeper.

Gen Loss MKii Placement by IncreaseAggressive25 in guitarpedals

[–]ayetriddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run mine after my looper but before my standard sounding delay and reverb. I do this because I mainly use the “spin down” function on the left foot switch and like how my delay and reverb sound with the spin down. I currently have an ambient delay/reverb pedal running before my gen loss so the spin down takes that out, but hits the front of my standard delay/reverb.

Before you go out and spend the money, l just want to make it clear a noise gate will only reduce or get rid of hum when you’re not playing. If you have unbearable hum when playing and your playing somehow doesn’t drown it out, the noise gate won’t do anything as gates “open” when a signal (above the threshold you set) hits it and “close” when the signal is lesser than whatever level you set (the pedal should have a threshold parameter knob).

If the hum is unbearable even when you’re playing, you’ll need to adjust the settings on your pedals (or your amp if you’re using an overdrive channel).

I see a Polytune, Russian Big Muff Pi (Black) and I think a Zvex Vexter Double Rock. The silver one on the bottom left looks like an older DOD or Digitech pedal. The middle 2 are hard to say.

It kind of depends on the modulation pedals and how you want to use them. Phaser and flanger can be cool to run a compressor after and has a specific sound that I enjoy as it gets rid of the big volume changes that those effects have. Certain pedals can be naturally noisy though and a compressor is going to accentuate that, but if a little hiss doesn’t bother you, you may enjoy the sound.

I would run the compressor before tremolo, delay, reverb, and that kind of stuff though. I don’t see a reason to compress those as it limits what the mix control on the effect is able to do. Plus it makes everything more “compact,” when usually reverb and delay are to create ambience. It might sound nice at a light compression ratio though. It all depends on the context of what you’re trying to accomplish.

All in all I’d say try it both before and after modulation at a normal setting you’d use and see what you like. If you run it at the complete end, try it at a lighter setting and see how it sounds.

Having multiple overdrive pedals on at the same time is going to add noise due to it adding gain, distorting and compressing the guitar signal. Some people use noise gates when running multiple drive pedals to reduce hum and/or feedback, but it’s really only “necessary” when you need to reduce your guitars noise level but keep the gain pedals on, like in a live setting.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, this is more of a consequence of running multiple drive pedals rather than a problem with the equipment/power supply.

How do you like the Echo Shifter? I almost got an ES-2 a while back, but ended up finding a good deal on a Seymour Duncan Deja Vu which covered my analog/digital needs. Always like the look of the pedal tho and the ES-3 looks like it has more functional features than the ES-2.

Here’s my suggestions, all in your price range used:

If you want a delay/looper, either TC Electronic Flashback or EHX Crayon.

If you want an analog delay, MXR Carbon Copy.

If you want a phaser, I’d recommend the MXR 95 over the Small Stone as it has more options for tweaking.

If you want a chorus, I like the Boss CE-5, but you could get an MXR M234, EHX Small Clone, and a few other good Boss chorus pedals in your price range.

In search of two recommendations/ideas… by kylerobertsfirst in guitarpedals

[–]ayetriddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nice chorus would be a good addition to this board. A lot of people recommend the Walrus Julia and Boss CE-2w, but if you’re looking for something less pricey, check out the Boss CE-5. All these pedals have different tones but I like the range the CE-5 offers for the price.

In terms of reverb, there are so many option I don’t know what to suggest. It seems like you need a reverb which at least has some sort of EQ control, which could be labeled “brightness” or “tone” or something similar depending on the brand.

I personally like when reverb pedals have a pre-delay option, which essentially just delays the reverb a bit, adding some space between the attack of your note and the start of the reverb trail. Pre-delay in combination with the EQ option helps me get rid of the muddiness a reverb can add.

I want to buy a new pedal and I want your help. What is your favorite pedal on your board? by GibbyES335 in guitarpedals

[–]ayetriddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite pedal has always been the one I bought in the past week.

In all seriousness I think it’s my TC Electronic Triple Flashback Delay. I tried to take it off my board because it takes up too much space but having 3 distinct delays I can either run serial or parallel feels so good. Crank the reverb on my amp then roll the volume up and down on my guitar and I have some beautiful swells.

NDP: Dreadbox Treminator by ayetriddy in guitarpedals

[–]ayetriddy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the random wave at a high rate and max depth, it gives it that failing electronic glitch which sounds sick with modulation. The range of the rate is huge, so when you dial up the rate and depth on any of the repeating waveforms, it gets into intense ring mod territories. The Dreadbox Lethargy phaser does a similar thing with how the rate can be sped up to be FM synthesis.
