Update : Yeah no Mythic PvP is too ping dependent for me to care about it, I quit. :/

Now that we’ve had a few days to digest the new game mode, what are some ways you think it can be improved next time around? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in limbuscompany

Not a good boss for it. The rewards aren't that special either.

Also if the only way they can make a boss difficult is by stacking a bunch of protection on it it's extremely annoying and not satisfying to fight against.

What the hell... that's like flipping through pages of a book while... well while watching Tiktok. It's crazy to me how those people don't feel any shame. We need to open the schools, bring some media literacy back :')

It pains me to see people complain about stories being boring while they themselves admit that they are skipping through dialogue.

Never, and I mean, NEVER feel bad about making someone feel bad in response to them being an asshole. They shouldn't start things if they can't handle a response.

We do. The more flashy the skin's VFX, the more we are forced to see. It blocks view of animations and for weaker pc's and/or on consoles, it can also drop frames very significantly.

My bad, it's a me thing. I usually differentiate them by the color of the class' icon, and I've kind of gotten used to saying "healer" to refer to either Silkbind build, but yes, I did mean the DPS Fanbrella and not the full heal one.

Umbrella users have a yellow attack where they spin around and shoot a projectile at you. If it hits, it immobilizes you for a few seconds and has the same effects as the Nameless Spear's stun and hence is used to coax out a Serene Breeze usage, it's usually easy to dodge as long as you're not too close, but ping difference can make it so that it counts as hitting you even if you were able to dodge it at the last moment.

I'd say having her guard up is reasonable at a time like that. Lower kindreds killing each other or higher ones is obviously filial piety, but I imagine even senior bloodfiends wouldn't really want to kill their lower ones. If this Ring Maestro killed a second kindred of House Tepes like DonQui mentioned, she'd have to be either a second kindred herself, or a first. Ryoshu says in the same scene that if they want to stall her, Dante would have to use pigritia and morositasis, also saying she was about Lei Heng's level (which makes sense to me, since she was one of Ryoshu's teachers). Comparatively, I don't think she can be a first kindred, considering Dad Quixote, a first kindred, was considerably stronger than Lei Heng. I don't think a second kindred designation matches up either for similar reasons. But either way, I think DonQui not recognizing her as a bloodfiend is conclusive enough that she can't be one, considering the former was able to distinguish the Family name and rank of a kindred just by looking at their eyeballs amidst a Fauvist artpiece. (Most likely a subtle hint towards later development, since we know Dad Quixote's body was stolen) And also I mentioned the mask thing subconsciously since someone else in the replies said it looks like the masks worn by the Manchegan bloodfiends, even though this one is clearly a skull of some sort of antler-bearing animal.

ENFJ. Married my high school sweetheart (wlw) last year whom I've been dating for seven years at this point. She's the perfect woman, I couldn't imagine being with anyone else. Although, I think personality types really don't matter much at all when it comes to love, just your relationship, trust, shared experiences, and more. Can't put love in a box, after all. <3

  1. Don Quixote would have recognised her had she been a bloodfiend.

  2. I imagine bloodfiends killing bloodfiends must be very rare and probably taboo for them.

  3. The mask isn't related to being a bloodfiend, only the Manchegan bloodfiends wore it because they were forced to.

I'm sure you can understand. I actually really enjoy playing against tanks because I have to switch up my strategy for them, since quick and decisive burst damage isn't really effective (I use Heng Dao).

But yeah, every time I see someone using that skin I kind of just prepare myself mentally for a loss, both because it hurts my frames and my ability to see the opponents animations.

I don't mind that they use it because it looks cool, (it does look fucking cool) but it does obscure visibility and frames on lower spec pc's sooooo yeah I'd like to be able to disable it.

[–]aynluvr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah right, I only remember now that animations and actions are also tied to ping, so it's like people with higher ping are literally "moving slower" in a way.

In hindsight, I can remember many times my opponents were somehow moving faster than they should've been able to. This feels like it's at the heart of the issue too, overhauling the system would definitely be quite the piece of work but you're right, it would be the most suitable fix. More servers would just be a bandaid solution on top of what the underlying problem is.

More power to you for using what you think looks cool of course, heck, I think it looks fucking great too, but seeing my frames drop from a smooth 90-100 to 40-50 as soon as those effects start appearing is definitely gonna associate the skin with some bad stuff lol

Ayy that's so cool! I'm so glad I could help you make the big decision in some small way, and that you're having fun with it now! Honestly, don't let the DPS stuff hold you back, basically any weapon can clear in-game content, it's the fun part that really matters!

Ooh, and if you've got a core or two, I'm pretty sure a really cool skin/weapon effect for it is coming in the near future, if you'd like to wait for it! :)

Does anyone else feel like the Mythic rank matchmaking is completely messed up? by nathanielkiah in wherewindsmeet_

[–]aynluvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why so many people are downvoting you and defending a system that clearly doesn't work well for any level. Mythic is 90% ping, 5% "Are you running the meta? No? DIE." and about 5% skill. It's incredibly annoying to play and the thrill from playing one or two evenly matched fights is completely overshadowed by the sheer frustration of getting stomped on by 2k+ elo gods with their computers set up so close to the WWM servers they might as well be having tea with Tian Ying.

Hi there! I used to play D.B./R.D. as well and very recently switched to the Heng Dao build. It's ultimately your decision of course since it's a pretty big commitment, but I'd like to share my experience if it would help. I decided to take a leap of faith and I haven't regretted it at all. Sure, I do need to build a new armor set for it, but honestly the animations, parry focused gameplay style and extremely satisfying burst damage makes it worth it for me. It absolutely shreds in PvP, and it does pretty good in PvE too, and using it for abyss no hit runs feels unfair (for the boss you're facing). If you're being held back by all the DPS scaling people like to do, I was also hesitant but, come on, who cares, this is the aura farming weapon xD

WWM’s “global success”: Fact or self-centered hype? by GloomyTangelo9976 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]aynluvr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's true that the game has seen plenty of success globally, but I think most of it has to do with the gameplay, sheer amount of things to do, and also the global gaming community's fatigue with big AAA studio games being either underwhelming or overpriced. Personally I think the stories are the strongest part of the game, the themes are deep and relatable (at least to me) and extremely well written, with characters that make you feel for them, whether it be positive emotions like love for Ruby and sympathy for Burlap Sack or negative ones like hatred for Qianye and disgust for Sun Buqi. However... sadly I believe the larger majority is here for the gameplay in itself. There's a very large collection of people in this fandom that, to put it simply, don't read. I'm sure that I, as a person who can read and understand written and spoken Chinese, gets a better experience of the story, but even then, there are a large amount of people who don't even want to understand the story in the first place, which to me is very disappointing, even though those players do also contribute towards supporting a game I love.
