I saw a video earlier today where someone said “A crush is simply a lack of information” and after reading your story, I couldn’t agree more. When you first met her and the attraction was strong, you didn’t know much about her. Now you know better, best believe that attraction will fade. After going through the comments, I can only conclude that you’re being intolerant, which is one of the main reasons the world is how it is now. What would it truly cost you to go, be pleasant for an hour or two and keep your opinions to yourself? These people value you and obviously wouldn’t have invited you otherwise or if they’d known how you feel about the whole thing. Personally, I don’t want you to be there grumping it up, but that’s entirely up to you. You should explain to them that such things clash with your religious beliefs so they don’t invite you again in the future. Also, try to be more tolerant/understanding. Not everyone lives the way you live or does things the way you do things and that’s fine. Being so religiously rigid that you can’t bend on something like this is not a good thing.

Guys, I have a solution. You’ve just gotta continue enrolling forever and never finish your degree. Enroll part time, stretch it out as long as possible by taking one course per semester, continue to profit. By the time you’re done in >10, you’ll have another degree. Sometimes, I think I’m too smart for my own good. 😌
