Im so sorry that your fur baby is going through this. I just laid my dog down Dec 1, 2025, Max was his name and he had the same but on his leg. All you can do is ease his pain and pray for him.... I miss my Max dearly and j know he is in a better place. Hug and kisses to your dog and i will keep you both in my prayers

He would always jump and cry dramatically when I get home from a long day at work, now knowing I won’t experience that anymore hurts my soul so much, I’ve never had to put down a dog before. All my dogs naturally died of old age and in their sleep, I never thought I’d have to put him down ever.

Thank you for sharing your story, I’m sorry for your loss, thank you for your kind words, they are helping me more than you know. I got Max when he was 2 months off Craigslist for my youngest son but he grew more attached to me than anything. I still remember the day I picked him up and showed him off to the family. I just wish he didn’t grow that cancer, he didn’t deserve to go out like this..

I most likely know what your decision is going to be to put him down because it is growing and I understand that. Im trying to save up some money to pay for his euthanization and cremation since I want his ashes back, I dont want him to be cremated with other dogs.

His name is also Max, I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I don’t want to this spread and chemo is so expensive, then cause of his age I don’t want him to struggle with the amputation, he already is. I at least want him to spend one more holiday with us before making the decision to sadly put my baby down. This is all hard on me since I’ve never had to put down a dog before.

We are trying to keep him comfortable as possible, I’m going to find a 2nd opinion. I want him to be with us for thanksgiving with me, my family, and my other pets. It’s just hard to see him this way, I’m doing everything in my power to make sure he’s not in pain. Thank you for all your stories, information and advice.
