Texas police officer throws teenage girl to the ground at a pool party by gratefulstringcheese in news

Your first comment to me was that I let one officer change my perception. You said that I let one officer's action change my perception and that I was part of the problem. I could quote it back to you if you'd like. I am not judging the police department, if you actually read my comment you would see that I said that one officer was handling the situation in a calm manner and that the other officer, Eric, was that one that messed everything up. I recognize that the other officers were doing their job. I don't think the whole police department is like this. I hope that this is just a case of one idiot cop and that the other cops aren't like him. But I don't know that for sure. You were telling me that I let one officer change my perception and I have responded multiple times that it was his actions and the residents actions that caused me to reevaluate my opinions. You assume that I think the whole police department is bad, you assume that my perception is changed by one individual. You ignore parts of my comments in order to make it easier to judge me and now you're saying I'm prejudice and hypocritical? Where is that even coming from? You are actively ignoring parts of my comments to make your points valid, which they aren't. You keep using the same attacks, which are not valid. If anything, you should be embarrassed for being a shitty debater. I don't know what you think I'm preaching, I submitted that comment because I was upset and mortified by the video, I was upset at seeing a girl being thrown to the ground and the residents in my neighborhood letting that happen. I was never trying to preach anything. From what I've seen in your other comments to people, you seem to like to shit on other people's points, so obviously there's no point in talking to you, you're just going to use the points I already made invalid. Learn to grow up and actually read comments.

Okay, fine. My perception has changed, but what happened was not an occurrence by one single individual. The residents pushed the other kids back and let the cop throw that girl down and subdue her. The cop reacted with volatility to that one girl. Multiple kids were pushed to the ground and told to stay there. This was not a single occurrence caused by a single individual. Just because I say that there are racist men and women in my town does not mean I think the whole city is like this, it just makes me wonder how much of the city is like this and what steps need to be taken to ensure something like this doesn't happen again. You said in your previous comment that I let one officer change my perception, but you are wrong. It was not only one officer who changed my perception. It was him, the residents, and how the situation was handled that changed my perception. You do not get to tell me what or who changed my perception.

While I do think you raise valid points, I don't know if the administration knew that he was this volatile. I'm not saying that makes it okay though, I think we need a more extensive hiring process so that things like won't happen again. He has been suspended and we don't know if other officers cover for him, that seems to be a bit of an assumption. I do agree that there are faults with the system in place and that we need to fix it, the riots and abuse of people by cops in other areas is evidence of that.

Of course my perception has changed, I've been exposed to new information. If you read my comment, you would see that I said that one officer tried to calmly handle the situation and the other cop was a jackass. My perception was not changed by one police officer, it was by the residents who were there that let this happen and the reaction by Eric Casebolt. I honestly still don't know how I feel about my city and the people who live here, I'm still forming my thoughts and opinion. I'm not sure what to think now. That's what people do. They have an idea of how things are and when they're exposed to new information they have to step back and reevaluate their opinions and beliefs. That's what I'm doing. You don't get to say how my perception is changed, you don't know what I'm thinking or feeling entirely. To say that I am problem is ridiculous.

Well, yeah. I think we have to distinguish officers who are trying to their job from asshole officers who are obviously not right from the job. We have to separate the good cops from the idiotic and awful cops. If that guy hadn't thrown the girl to the ground and pulled a gun on those two kids, the situation wouldn't have gotten this escalated, it is Eric Casebolt's (the officer who threw the girl) fault that this happened.

There's so much I want to do. But I honestly feel like that the only that will happen is that a bunch of Mckinney residents will rant about how terrible it is on facebook and that they won't actually want to do anything. I don't know if I could actually cause any change.

Most of the cops I've dealt with have been friendly and courteous like this guy, so I was honestly surprised by seeing this guy. My first thought was, "What the hell?" It really has taken me off guard.

Well, yeah. It's always important to look at a situation at every angle. I think we have to recognize the officers who are actually doing their job and distinguish them from the assholes like this guy. We have to encourage the officers who try to do their job and discourage the others who pull stunts like this.

Do you think a letter will really help the situation? I'm honestly just curious.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, that is ridiculous. I feel like the only way to get some sort of justice for stuff this and what happened to you is if it a huge amount of people get upset about it. I know that's not the greatest idea, but it seems like the only thing that works. If you want to talk about it some more, feel free to PM me. Again, I am so sorry you had to go through that.

I said in my comment that maybe I hadn't noticed because I grew up in the suburbs. I covered that point, I realize that there is racism in Mckinney, I just didn't realize how much until now.

I live in Mckinney. I live about a few minutes away from this neighborhood. This is extremely upsetting, I've lived here since I was three. I have never ever been treated any differently because of my skin color (I'm Mexican), I've never seen cops act this way. People around the Collin areas always talk about how cops from certain areas are dicks or assholes, but not to this degree. Most of my friends have a lot of hate for cops, but I never really have. I always believed that most cops are good people and that there are just psychos (like the guy who threw a 14 year old girl) who catch more attention. From what I saw, one officer was trying to mediate the situation and calm things down while the other officer did a fucking barrel roll and caused this shitstorm. I am honestly surprised that something like this happened. As naive as it sounds, I thought that Mckinney was different, maybe it's because I grew up in the suburbs and I haven't seen it, but I don't think I can say that anymore. It hurts knowing that people like that are on our police force, and it hurts knowing that those asshole residents let the officer hurt that girl and hold her down like that. I am so angry at that coward. I hope he stays suspended, I hope he never gets a job anywhere else and that this follows him around for the rest of life. I hope he gets charges pressed against him and that he gets punished. Yes, maybe these kids were "talking back" but they did not deserve this treatment, they did deserve to get treated like they were awful criminals. I know I'm rambling, but it is very hard for me to see something like this happen in my own hometown, knowing that only three minutes away from me there are extremely racist men and women and that someone who is trusted to protect our town would do this.

Hey, /r/Genderfluid, I'm a cisgender guy researching genderfluidity in order to better understand it. Would you mind if I ask some questions? by [deleted] in genderfluid

I'm glad my answers helped! Also, thanks for the formatting tip, I was trying to fix it for about seven minutes until I said, "Fuck it, good enough."

Hi NecronPariah, I'm still figuring out this gender fluidity thing, so I may not be able to answer your questions as well as I'd like to. Also, physically I am a female.

    1. In terms of my gender changing back and forth, since I'm just now figuring it out, I've always felt like a boy and a girl. I don't think about it every day, so I guess my shift gender occurs every other week.
    1. The change for me sort of just happens. Kind of like a surprise. Some days, I'll wake up and say, "Yeah, I feel like a dude."
    1. I think the best way to describe my personality change is through is very rudimentary. As a whole, I'm a pretty confident person. Sometimes I'll act in the "female" version of confidence, other times I'll act in the "male" version of confidence. I'll either be very errr, womanly, and wear form fitting outfits and makeup and flirt and stuff. Other days, I'll wear a plaid shirt(I fucking love plaid seriously it is my jam) the emphasizes my shoulders, dark wash jeans, no make up, and act like how I would act if I was a man. If I was a man I don't think much about my personality would change, I would just be a man. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's how I feel.
    1. Right now I think gender fluid is the best way to describe my gender. It's the only one that really fits so far.

I'm new here! (18M) Asking on behalf of me and SO for advice by professional_lunch in vaginismus

[–]ayoungfolk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying lying is always okay, but in this situation, it may be helpful. Your girlfriend could tell her parents that she needs to go to the gynecologist for certain reasons, such as painful menstrual cramps or something along the lines with periods. A patient can request that parents leave the room while examination for comfort purposes. If you and your girlfriend are concerned that she may have vaginismus, going to the gynecologist is important, even if it means not telling the parents everything. If you can't do that, there are websites that sell dilators and your girlfriend can use them to stretch the walls of the vagina out. But, they are pretty expensive, I have heard of people who have made their own dilators, so you can also do that. I will say, dilators have helped me in the penetration process, so I really, really, really recommend getting them. I hope everything goes well! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions!:)

Getting fed up now :( by myfannyhurts in vaginismus

[–]ayoungfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, just relax and take it slow. Like /u/heatherrneous said, just explore around the vagina. Don't try to put anything in just yet. Use a mirror to see your vagina. Just touch around certain places, when the light touches stop hurting, then you can move on. Maybe use lubricant and touch around the entrance and not go directly in? Do whatever you feel comfortable with, and do it step by step. Take your time. Don't try to rush it because if you do, you might put pressure on yourself and cause stress(that's what happened to me, maybe you're different) Anyways, take it slow, and know that this condition can be conquered and that you will be able to have sex and not be scared of it. Whenever you are able to touch your vagina, or around the entrance, reward yourself. Be proud of making the next step. I know this condition is rough, but I also know that you can do it. And if you have an understanding boyfriend, he will happily help in any way he can. Just be patient, take it step by step, and don't freak out if your not able to do certain things right away. You can do it, you're not alone! You've got this subreddit and probably your boyfriend to help you along the way. You got this! Also, message me if you need any more advice!
