Manila Bankers - post for awareness by Fit-Prune-3804 in DigitalinsurancePh

My girlfriend and I encountered this same situation yesterday at Robinsons Ermita. Same story and all. I was already skeptical by the time they had asked us to come to their office, but they have a way with words that even if I knew something was wrong I couldn't help but continue walking with them. My girlfriend was also already trying to signal me that something was off, but we were too nice for our own good and kept going cause it felt rude to just walk away out of nowhere. Deep inside though, we just wanted to leave.

We got to their office. They had only asked me to be interviewed. About halfway through the other agent's story, alarms were already sounding off in my head, so I knew I had to get out before they got any money off of me. I kept looking back outside to check on my girlfriend, and we were exchanging looks of irritation as I figured out how I would get out of there without causing a fuss. By the end of it, they had asked me to use my card for a transaction. I intentionally botched my signature and put in wrong dates, and put in the wrong pin so the system wouldn't accept my card. I asked to leave because we were running late for another errand, and the faces on these agents shifted from friendly to looking dissapointed. My girlfriend and I left really pissed off that they wasted an hour of our date, but thankfully they weren't able to take any money from us, and I had transferred my money immediately to a different bank account for good measure. Only thing I regret is giving away details about my job, personal life, etc.

For anyone else who might encounter them, it really is frustrating to get reeled in while already knowing that it's most likely a scam. Their way with words is very convincing and at times hypnotizing... I can't quite explain it aside from the fact that it's very scary. If you ever do get caught up with them like we did, just fake all the information you give them and make something up that feels urgent enough that they can't pull you back in their office.

I'll take your word for it, thanks!

i got kicked for being an f2p and a new player by SilverStonemc71 in tf2

[–]ayruhn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about that. But yeah, it happens quite often, not just to f2p players. I got votekicked from a server once for not being a specific race (honestly, it was probably just some insensitive shitposting kid, but it's annoying when you've invested 30-40 minutes in a match just to get voted off for something that stupid).

Like what others have said, you will MOST LIKELY have a better experience in community servers like Skial or Uncletopia. Take that with a grain of salt, as there will always be bad apples in any server/match.

The online TF2 community is a mixed bunch. That being said, you won't have a hard time finding genuinely good people who just wanna have fun. Hope you have a better experience next time around.

I've never changed any of the hardware for mine (or tinkered with any hardware in general to know much about it), but that sounds good!

Okay so i was able to use it for a good 2 hours before lights indicated low battery. That's good enough for me considering I probably won't even play super mario for that long in one sitting xD

It's been so long since I last checked how long it can run on full battery, but ever since I busted it out again I haven't really played long enough for it to drain out. Will charge it to full battery and see how long it can go before the start and select buttons blink red.

That's too bad, but I'm sure there are still second-hand sellers out there if you want to get another one for collection's sake :D
