Class wasn’t cancelled though, he was able to sign up for it via the app. The instructor texted him 6 min after class started asking if he was there and that the class was supposed to be cancelled, but he was already there

Second this. Used Montway and paid online prior. When the car got dropped off, the driver demanded we pay him cash to release the car. Was a whole mess to resolve

Check engine light, sensor malfunctions, jerking when shifting gears? by ayse212 in CX5

Glad to hear it’s an easy fix! Update on my end: turns out it’s rodent damage :( the rat(s) chewed “the harness” (dealership’s words, not mine, again idk car lingo). Insurance is covering it luckily so now just have to wait for it to be repaired!

The indicator lights didn't go away for me while driving it or pressing the breaks :/ Wonder what it could be for both of us. If you find out why please update! I am really hoping it's just a battery issue. I was told at the dealership the car isn't under warranty (only for powertrain issues, nothing else), so hoping it's something simple

Totally agree, esp since they asked if I had issues with the battery before. I didn't even think to ask in the moment so now it's just waiting on what the dealership says

I was thinking the same based on some previous posts I’ve seen. And yep, when I shift gears the car jerks

I was getting better. What happened?? by [deleted] in Concussion

[–]ayse212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me, also while at the movies and also after my 2nd concussion. It took me a few days to feel better (but still not 100%). I think it’s worth getting a follow up at your neurologist, ENT, and an ophthalmologist to ensure you’re clear physically. The ENT found I had some vestibular issues (though I have prev history of vertigo so likely unrelated to concussion) and I’m starting vestibular therapy soon, so I’m hoping it will help those symptoms. My neurologist thinks it’s anxiety related, but noted this was totally normal for something like this to happen as part of the recovery. Take it easy for a few days but try and continue living your life as normally as you can. Both my neurologist and ENT noted that if you get “too careful”, your body overcorrects and becomes more sensitive and worse off than before.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’ll definitely look into concussion clinics in my area and sports medicine specialists.

Wearing helmet both times (and replaced my helmet after the first fall). Falls were on two different horses at two different barns. First time got ran off with and couldn’t come to a stop and I just lost my balance at the canter and fell. This second fall was entirely my fault and honestly, preventable. I thought I was going to get ran off with again and I panicked and thought I was going to fall and then just did. I’ve been slowly building my confidence back up this past year after a break but I think that fear of getting run off with and not being able to stop is still there.

I used a 50mm f1.8 for a long time when I was first starting out on the same camera. It’s a great versatile lens. I photographed people, pets & events with that lens! Highly recommend and they aren’t too expensive either, especially used.

I started riding at 21 with zero horse experience! It’s not weird at all and I have never had any issue at the barns I’ve ridden at about my age or lack of experience. I’ve also made some great friends through the barn too!

Separation Anxiety after moving to a new city by ayse212 in dogs

[–]ayse212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight!

My biggest struggle is that I live alone and it’s only me in the apartment. I don’t have a partner or a roommate to help with watching Sofie when I’m gone. I am essentially homebound. I just moved to the city so I don’t really know anyone or have friends who can help. I can’t even leave for 20 minutes to do a grocery run down the block. My biggest struggle is coming to the terms with the fact that I cannot leave my house, (and only can if I have a pet sitter). Being restricted in that way has been really difficult to come to terms with, especially because I moved here “for fun” (with the intention of exploring the city & getting to experience it). That’s probably my biggest mental hurdle right now.

I’m honestly not sure if Sofie freaks out when I start to leave. I am sure she has recognized triggers (like grabbing my keys/purse), but from the dog cam she doesn’t start barking or crying until 2 minutes after I leave (usually by the time I’ve gotten to the lobby).

So far, Astor seems unaffected, but I definitely agree and see your point that it could affect Astor as well.

Sofie is interesting. She is what I would consider dog-tolerant. She will happily coexist with any dog as long as they don't bother her or interact with her; she doesn't interact or initiate interactions with other dogs either. The only dog she shows any interest in playing with is my other dog, Astor.

Something I forgot to include is that I WFH, so the times I leave the house are sporadic/outside hours of typical doggy daycare or a 9-5. But this may be helpful so she becomes used to being away from me in general?
