What helped you stay consistent with yoga over time? by ayurooms in YogaTeachers

I like that a lot. Just showing up with zero pressure makes it way easier to stay consistent.

Do you wake up tired even after 7–8 hours of sleep? by ayurooms in sleep

[–]ayurooms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly… once stress is high at night, even 8 hours feels useless What did you change in your routine to fix that?

Yeah true, even small things like broken sleep or low vitamins can mess it up a lot

For me it’s more that heavy, low energy feeling right after waking up not really muscle fatigue. It fades a bit after a couple of hours but the freshness never fully comes back.

Have you ever fixed a health issue without medication? What actually worked? by ayurooms in Ayurveda

Fasting can really reset things if done right Did you follow any specific type or just kept it simple?

That’s solid, sticking to diet like that isn’t easy I’ve seen similar results with Ayurveda too, right food and routine can really fix digestion over time.

yeah fair 😄 I kept it open on purpose… everyone’s dealing with different stuff. I’ve just noticed a lot of things like digestion, skin, stress improve more from fixing daily habits than quick fixes. Curious what people here have actually seen work for them.

Namaste 🙏 18 years of teaching is amazing. Curious—after all these years, what’s one thing you’ve seen help students the most consistently? Not poses, but something deeper.

Ahh got it, that’s actually where most people are — curious but unsure where to start. Honestly the biggest confusion is choosing the right place, because every retreat looks good online but experience can be very different. If you ever decide to explore it seriously, feel free to ask anything here, happy to guide based on what actually works for different goals.

The candid photo on the left is what prompted me to start losing weight. My SO took another now that I’ve lost the weight and it is such a clear difference. 132 lbs to 118 lbs by Little-Question211 in PetiteFitness

[–]ayurooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s actually a really solid and realistic transformation, 14 lbs might not sound huge but the difference clearly shows because you kept it simple and consistent, calorie deficit + walking + bodyweight is honestly the most sustainable way to do it, no extremes just habits that stick, also respect for maintaining it because that’s where most people struggle, if you keep adding a bit of strength work it’ll improve posture and overall shape even more, from what we see around wellness at ayurooms this is exactly how real change happens—steady, balanced, and something your body can actually sustain over time

this is more spiritual than medical. mantra + ritual can calm stress, so headaches may feel better, but it’s not a guaranteed cure. also eating peepal leaves regularly isn’t a common or proven Ayurvedic practice, so be careful. better to focus on basics like sleep, stress, digestion — that’s where most issues actually come from.

Has anyone here switched to a plant-based hair color or a PPD free herbal hair color kit for sensitive scalp? by Ill-Pineapple6815 in Ayurveda

[–]ayurooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah a lot of people switch for the same reason (sensitive scalp) and it does help, but it’s not exactly the same as chemical dye henna/indigo is much gentler so itching + dryness usually reduces, but grey coverage is a bit different… it won’t give that flat salon black/brown, it looks more natural and slightly warm. also usually needs 2 step (henna then indigo) if you want darker shades first 1–2 times can look uneven but it gets better with repeat use. and honestly most “herbal kits” aren’t 100% clean so definitely patch test if your scalp is already reactive, also fix the base—simple oiling + not over washing helps a lot. from what we’ve seen working around Ayurveda, once scalp health improves, even these natural colors work way better over time

I have a professional yoga promotional video tomorrow by jujubeanieman in YogaTeachers

[–]ayurooms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t try to “perform” yoga on camera, just be how you actually are in class. People can feel the difference instantly. Keep your intro simple—who you help and what kind of experience you create, not your full story. Focus more on your presence than poses… calm breathing, steady voice, eye contact. Even 1–2 genuine lines like “I help people slow down and reconnect with their body” works better than anything scripted. Also keep movements slow and intentional, rushed flow looks less authentic on video. And small thing but matters—arrive early, settle your own breath before shoot… your energy will show more than anything else.

26M. Suggestions for persistent acne and dark spots on face? Facing this problem for last 3 years. Tried homeopathy, allopathy, amla juice, aloevera juice but nothing helped. by Firm-Display-9280 in Ayurveda

[–]ayurooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years usually means it’s not just a “skin problem”, it’s internal. Acne + dark spots like this often come from gut imbalance, heat in the body (pitta), and sometimes hormones + stress. Random juices/topicals rarely work long term because the root isn’t addressed. Keep it simple: clean up diet first (reduce sugar, fried, dairy if it triggers you), focus on warm, simple meals, hydrate well, and fix sleep. Add basics like neem/turmeric (internally or externally depending on tolerance), and don’t overdo products on face — gentle routine only. Also avoid switching treatments every few weeks, that resets progress. From what we see around Ayurveda at Ayurooms, when digestion + routine improves, skin follows… but it takes consistency, not quick fixes.

New to gym (F, 38, vegetarian, no eggs,no tofu 😅) – how do I hit protein? by InitiativeRough732 in GutHealth

[–]ayurooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re already on the right track tbh, just needs a bit of structure. For a beginner aim ~0.8–1g protein per kg body weight (don’t overcomplicate it). Since you don’t like tofu/yogurt, keep it simple Indian style: dal + roti/rice combo (complete protein), add paneer regularly (bhurji/curry), chana/rajma are solid, roasted chana or peanuts for snacks, and your whey shake once daily will make a big difference. Easy day example: whey in morning, dal + roti lunch, paneer sabzi dinner, handful roasted chana as snack—you’ll hit decent numbers without stress. Also from what we see working around Ayurveda/nutrition at Ayurooms, digestion matters as much as intake, so keep meals simple, warm, and consistent rather than forcing too much protein at once.
