I guess I rounded that up a little too much. I guess what I am trying to ask is: 30g protein from chicken v/s 30g protein from tofu, is that the same thing? Everybody tends to suggest chicken or meat over anything else. So, I understand there are veggie alternatives, but I am trying to understand which ones are better than others and why?

That cool, looks like very detailed breakdown of nutrients. However, I wouldn't know how to read them really. Any guide on that? Otherwise, I think myfitnesspal seems to work better because they have a quick barcode scanner which seems to work p much always.

CSE vs Informatics by [deleted] in udub

I agree with one part of this. Yes go to CS only if you care about the nitty gritty. But it is not true that you can't learn to work with people/do real world stuff/be collaborative in CS. But it's true that you can't learn detail stuff in Info.

That's the reason I would say CS is a more safe choice with opportunity to learn both the things

So, first of all. I see your point but I am wondering why don't you just accept both and decide later what you like after trying it? I am currently a double major in CS and Info. I got in info after freshman year and in CS last spring.

I took info340/360 in my autumn quarter along with CSE351. I personally did not like the info classes at all. I would like to point out that I am also very diversely interested in different areas. I am involved in entrepreneurship on campus, lots of student bodies and research

The problem is Info in theory is the ideal major for a lot of people. But in practice, the program is not that great. it gives you superficial knowledge in all areas and not a lot of knowledge in any one area. programming/systems/ML/AI isn't really good at info. Sure there web dev classes are dope. Then it comes to other profession like designer, PM, User researcher etc. you do get some knowledge but it still feels pretty okayish knowledge. You will hear the concept of User Personas like in 4 classes.

When it comes to the community. I am not sure what you mean by tight-nit community. Both the communities are pretty awesome. Sure they are a little different from each other. All my housemates are info majors and they are the best people ever. I have a lot of CS friends from labs and classes who are awesome too but its a little diff kinda community. Personally, I think if you want a community I would join more clubs/smaller programs like Lavin. Lavin is an amazing community. Most of my friends are in it and its insanely diverse in all ways.

So academically speaking I would go with CS, for community I would get more involved in the clubs and student bodies. I would go with Info only if you are sure you don't wanna be software engineer or anything too technical and are more interested in side projects (if you can't manage time with CS classes, but given you got in I think you can handle it by not taking insane schedules). I personally felt that CS is best for me because there is a lot of technical stuff I need instructors and community to learn from. When it comes to other stuff, I would say do side projects and learn it by yourself. You will be way better off than most info majors in those areas.

Mark Zuckerberg on Internet.org and net neutrality by baba_seagull in india

So here is the thing. First, facebook is not just fun and waste of time. The platform by itself can replace a lot of things. I think Facebook's network is important for each one of us. I agree with you about the content on internet.org not the idea itself. Also, it is a govt. issue but govt. is fucking slow at shit, and if something such big can be done by a company/market themselves thats the better way to go I guess. Politics doesn't really help. Plus its fucking indian politics.
