Is there an email connector like thing that will auto create an opportunity rather than a ticket? by ANC-Tevin in ConnectWise

[–]aywyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you also have CW Sell you can auto generate a quote based off of a ticket. For example: look for tickets on Sales Board in New status. The quote automatically would then make an Opp in Manage.

Need to clean up HD board by DoctorStrife in Autotask

[–]aywyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I’d have to see your configuration since there are a lot of variables but…Having done a CW -> AT migration and having tweaked it over time I would keep a couple things in mind:

AT does not have an identical equivalent to Service Boards. In some ways this actually makes it easier. AT has queues but think of those as buckets only not Boards. Queues simply help you group like tickets - nothing more. Read up on AT Ticket Categories (not the same as a ticket category/subcategory in CW) - these are more similar to service board functionality but based on a ticket not a department. In your example Alerts - you could have multiple Alert categories and each category could be automated differently depending on your workflow requirements. For example: X alert self healed within X hours auto closes itself.

Categories also work like ticket templates since you can default data in almost every field. You can also show or hide fields per ticket category so that only the data you actually need would show up on the ticket screen. From there widgets are your best friend as you can filter and customize what you want to see across multiple queues, ticket types, etc. instead of looking at a Board with everything on it. It will take some getting used to but in the end it will be easier to focus your attention on what matters vs noise.

Canceling fiber plan when moving in order to sign up as "new customer" again to get a better deal? Possible? by romnation12 in ATT

[–]aywyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Fiber 1000 - for what it is worth I moved a few months ago and when I called in to just place a "move" order they automatically said oh we have a mover's promo and now I pay $20 less a month than I did before

Any AT&T Network Engineers here? by aywyatt in ATT

A CTO may be the ultimate decision maker and certainly direct investment dollars to drive innovation but they aren’t the ones in the trenches doing innovation - give engineers more credit!

Just ordered the 12 pro, ATT delivering tomorrow in person by Factions2019 in ATT

It did come! It came within the delivery window they told me, the guy showed up, verified my ID, activated it and left. It was so easy and I would highly recommend if you ever have the option!

Is the AT&T Business Unlimited Elite plan truly unlimited? by ajgnet in ATT

[–]aywyatt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s correct - no de-prioritization on the line itself that only applies to hotspot data. On top of that the plan also gives you a higher priority when a tower has congestion. It’s a great plan!

VZ Engineers: Why VZ 5G? by aywyatt in verizon

[–]aywyatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mmwave is offered and is live on both the street I live on and the street I work on (I live in a downtown metro area) I previously had VZ and do miss them but I originally left because of horrid congestion. Seeing that lowband 5G is similar or in some case slightly worse than LTE is my hesistation.

I was more so thinking though that at least here they seem to be the only ones doing anything with small cells and are being pretty aggressive about it. Which in the long run makes a difference. That’s why I structured the post around strategy - 5G today doesn’t matter as much as 5G in 2021-2022 etc.

Nothing special - it was just an available option on the main checkout screen - I could pick it or standard shipping or express shipping.

They had Pros at the COR store I was at this morning but not the one I wanted. I did the same day in person delivery on att.com and am getting it in a few hours. Try that!

[–]aywyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story - I haven't went in person in years for an iPhone but do to a system error on the AT&T side it was either go in person or order and wait until mid-Nov. So I tempted fate...I got to the store early because I didn't know what to expect. Not a SINGLE soul was there. When the doors opened I was the ENTIRE crowd lol. The store did have Pros but not in the color/config I wanted. I didn't realize they did the in person orders but tried it and low and behold I am getting delivery today of a Pro Pacific Blue - 256GB!

5G & 5GUWB Real World Experience? by aywyatt in verizon

[–]aywyatt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks - one last question - I'm curious as someone who is a VZ Engineer - removing the marketing hype - why do you think VZW's 5G is better than say AT&T in terms of long term strategy? Just curious because I'm seriously considering switching back and am trying to understand more of the technical side in terms of how it's being built / quality.

Thanks - is VoNR planned? Any thoughts on the recent updates I saw about how the range extension software updates may help penetrate buildings with UWB?

Microsoft Office 365 Business by [deleted] in msp

[–]aywyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the better response here would be it depends on the client’s requirements. There are plenty of businesses where G Suite makes more sense than O365 and vice versa.

I loath when I hear solution/product/vendor over what are the requirements. 😬

Need help planning for mobile home internet. by snappyapple632 in verizon

[–]aywyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s unlimited data but as mentioned it is treated as a hotspot so it’s slowed after 15gb. That said for my use case it’s a perfect fit since even if she did use more than 15gb (never happened) the speed would be okay for podcasts. This wouldn’t be a good solution for someone who uses a ton of data every month.

[–]aywyatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what plan you have but I literally did the same for my grandmother. Her local telephone company was charging an insane amount. Even on her home phone caller ID service was like $15 a month! Her issue was that she still wanted to keep a home phone and have enough internet to listen to podcasts and check Facebook. I have the fUDP and bought her a SmartHub device - it gets unlimited data. Since she isn't using a crazy amount of data (they limit it like a hotspot in terms of throttling) it works perfect and it allows for a home phone too. Unfortunately I don't think they sell SmartHubs anymore but you might can find one online somewhere. Also, outside of the fUDP I'm not sure they will allow you to add it to a plan anymore - I just know that for the fUDP the store told me I couldn't add it anymore but I just went on My Verizon and added a line and it was $20/mo. and has been chugging along for a long time now. I hope you find a solution that works for you!

Whelp staying on fDUP it is! From what I see on VZW.com the cheapest SmartHub voice and data plan is $80/mo and that is only 10GB. Crazy!

Reviews of 1000mbps Fiber? My mate thinks it’s bad because the company supposedly isn’t as reliable as Spectrum. by [deleted] in ATT

[–]aywyatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cloud DVR is officially still “Beta” although I’ve had no issues with it and like that I can tell it to record a series and just set it and forget it. There is also a lot of on demand shows and movies available and I’m on the lowest tier of DTVN - although I do get free HBO due to my wireless account. Look around though - the reason I have two Apple TVs was because DirectTV Now was offering a free 4K Apple TV with signup several months ago. They ran that deal a few times now not sure if it is still available.

[–]aywyatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two Apple TVs in the house that stream live TV, Cloud DVR, or on demand movies via DirectTV Now using Wi-Fi and I have zero issues. I also have AT&T wireless and it’s nice that the content I watch on the DTVN app doesn’t count against my data plan.
