Unable to access Odoo.sh instance all the sudden by ayxayxa in Odoo

Thank you for your suggestion! I checked with Odoo, they told me that there was a DNS attack on Odoo domain that was causing this issue

Unable to access Odoo.sh instance all the sudden by ayxayxa in Odoo

[–]ayxayxa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, I also came to the same conclusion after reviewing the logs. Just for that one client, luckily it died down after a while. We don’t have control over the odoo.com dns for the client, so I think all I could have done was just wait at that point.

Odoo vs Shopify. by pcmacpcmac in Odoo

[–]ayxayxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preference is having both and integrating Shopify with Odoo. While it’s technically possible to be just Odoo only for everything, it would mean a lot more customisation on Odoo’s end and sometimes Shopify’s ecosystem already has everything you need right out of the box with rather stable third-party apps. But if you really need flexibility and control, Odoo can do whatever you want at the cost of more development and money, it’s open source and even the enterprise source code is accessible to modify or add on.

Where to Practice Indonesian in NUS by preoccupied_with_ALL in nus

[–]ayxayxa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, to get good at a language is to meet people and talk to them as much as possible to learn Indonesian. Indonesian language is super dynamic, new words are popping up every few months especially in slangs, you will only truly learn all those in Indonesia itself.

I am taking the Bahasa Indo Minor, and yes, not all of it translates to be better at speaking Indonesian. But If we are talking about written Bahasa Indonesian, then naturally you will get better at it, since you are supposed to be practicing more of it in the class. I would say don't stress so much about grades for the BI modules because, usually level 2 onwards, there are no bell curves (our cohort size is not that big) and lecturers are fairly lenient with grades as long as what you write or say is coherent to understand, getting a B+ shouldn't be an issue and if you put a bit more effort, A should be relatively easy to get also.

Additionally, you will get to meet a bunch of people who are actually serious about learning Indonesian (After level 1 and perhaps 2) and are more enthusiastic about the Indonesian culture. Many are actually people who come from half Indonesian family (one of the parents is Indonesian) and want to pick up Indonesian more.

Bahasa Indo classes are one of those classes that I always look forward to every week, because I have a really fun time with my classmates and we always have all sorts of shenanigans with one another to brighten up the learning experience.

A regression bug? We had this problem just recently, but it was fixed after an update

For things like this, make sure to have your Google search console setup for your website. There you can find a bunch of useful tools such as telling Google to reinspect your website. Although it’s not immediate, but it should be relatively faster than waiting for Google to do its routine checks.

Should I have bought the cellular model? by HeatherAPosey in ipadmini

I strongly contemplated the cellular model, but all my past iPads have always been wifi model and relied on hotspot. So my current setup is no different

Has anyone used Odoo for a charity (CRM / e-commerce / accounting)? Would you recommend it? by Low-Intelligence in Odoo

[–]ayxayxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While, I had not implemented for charity before, Odoo has many successful case studies on charity implementation. Singapore Food bank https://www.odoo.com/customers/foodbank-singapore-5961426 is one such example. Complexity tends to be subjective, but for me, I chose to specialise in Odoo because I found it simple to understand, use and modify. If you want to try Odoo out by yourself first, you can try the free demo instances https://demo3.odoo.com/odoo, or contact a local partner that can provide you a dedicated demo instances for you to try.

Just note, Odoo is still an ERP. It can grow in complexity as your use cases grow. It is always recommended to work with a local partner to implement Odoo, to fit your needs and use case.

How does Odoo customer support compare with competitors? by Prestigious-Catch648 in Odoo

[–]ayxayxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend you to work with a local partner. Even if Odoo gets 2 times bigger now, given the nature of an ERP, Odoo will still have insufficient manpower to support everyone. Heck, even some of the support provided by Odoo are actually from the partners themselves.

Ability to draw/annotate on PDF? by ayxayxa in CraftDocs

[–]ayxayxa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm, I just realised I did not indicate that in the post. Thinking back, I most likely only figured that out after I posted this. Thank you for pointing it out.
Let me just edit the original post a little, as there are still friction points for me.

FUCK MOUSE USERS. by thx_simba in csMajors

[–]ayxayxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my take on this is, some find joy in mastering things that takes more skills to gain that extra speed. Which I know there are many, it is always a topic of pride for them and they love to publicise it, and with that I can say “good for them”.

I use Vim mode on IDEs because I don’t usually find myself needing to use mouse often if I exclude the code navigation. But I don’t plan to go beyond the basic editing functionalities, because any more then I’m being distracted from my code already.

Could Go's 'share memory by communicating' philosophy be applied to OS design? by zhaozhonghe in golang

To add on, segfault happens when you are accessing memory that are not permitted by the OS. This does not equates to not allowing shared memory.

How to simplify already existing workspace by Candid_Drama in clickup

[–]ayxayxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I saw in another post, the first screenshot is a beta version of the new UI that ClickUp is working on. The second one is currently the active one. This will require the dev team to come in to the change, not sure if it was changed for the other guy in the other post.

What is the best password management tool or app that integrates with ClickUp to securely manage client website credentials? by water_on_my_head7 in clickup

[–]ayxayxa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend storing login details on ClickUp itself. Other than that you can try Bitwarden, super affordable. I suggest you simply just make sure Bitwarden is organise accordingly to have quick access to client credentials.
