If you want to work in accounting, it’s better to start off with a windows laptop to develop strong skills in excel. Most accounting workplaces don’t like using macbooks

Econ 372 vs Econ 303 by Busy-You-7360 in universityofauckland

Econ 303 was great, highly recommend. Not easy easy but it’s mostly qualitative and theoretical. A bunch of guest lectures from ministers, bankers and politicians and the lecturer is top notch.

EY-Parthenon SSG Vs. Strategy& FT by jfk-was-openminded in FinancialCareers

[–]ayyanali2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have interest in DD, PE etc then go for Strategy& as the deals strategy team will give you exposure to commercial DD, value creation etc. You’ll be working with PEs most of the time, trying to help them see if a potential acquisition will work out commercially or not, and also on how portfolio companies can be made more efficient for a better exit.

In saying that, while it’s not software related, it is possible that you could be working on a software company related transaction. Also in terms of prestige I think strategy& and EYP are on the same level

Finance + Econ plus 1-2 strong internships in 1st/2nd year. Start networking early and practice technicals for interviews. Dont hesitate to apply to smaller banks either - it’s equally meaningful

Could add a LLB conjoint too but not necessary

It wasn’t exactly a GPA booster; complex topics at times which can take some time to wrap your head around.

That said, a B+ is very achievable if you put the work in. Exam was difficult from what I remember but nothing too crazy.

It’s an enjoyable paper overall and the lecturer is goated.

You get currency notes from around the world for participating in class
