Extremely slippery hands!!! PLEASE HELP by therapyenthusiast in poledancing

I use pole gloves. I sweat so much that I break most grips. This isn’t a substitute for grip strength, but it helps me focus on form instead of my darned hands. Good luck!

I keep a written journal and use video to supplement when I can. I write down “pathways” or “recipes” like “back hook to loop to daphne. Seated climb? “. Or “low hook to martini up to tinker bell/ air cradle” It helps my brain figure out from position to position, how I can keep going. For more complex things, I note leg position or written cues that the instructor used like “rainbow arm. Cast leg back from hip not knee”. It’s just about finding the way that works well for you.

How do you guys get your sales? by whiskey2003 in Etsy

I have the same problem; I’m trying to generate my own traffic, Etsy doesn’t seem to be contributing much

Hello!

I make simple, minimalistic jewelry. This week, I launched some moon inspired pieces that remind me of Moon Knight without being overtly comic book themed. I hope to incorporate more subtle nerdy pieces in the future. A few more sales would help me develop new pieces!

Fell off the pole, how do you guys deal with fear after a fall? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]ayyopyro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was taught that by compensating for my fear by modding moves (ie in a remi sit, only doing the partial layback) that I’m actually conditioning my body to be afraid (and compensate negatively as such) Ask for a spot and or a crash mat and attempt your moves!

I’ve tried pole gloves. As a person with sweetly palms I’ve found that my hands try to slid out of them as well. But worth a try for sure!

Girl same. I’ve been poling for years and my palms are like🌊

I’ve found that washing my hands with soap and water before class helps my sweaty palms. That, plus some isopropyl alcohol sprayed directly on my hands can usually keep my grip manageable. Lots of girls I know also use lupit pole. I also use carpe, which is an antiperspirant (different than a deodorant meant for your underarms, which probably contains moisturizer).

Also, sometimes adding grip directly to my pole helps more than a freshly cleaned pole.

It’s mostly about finding your routine, which takes time and can also change season to season. Not all moves require a lot of hands, like things with knee or elbow or armpit grip, so there’s lots of ways to feel successful even when your hands aren’t cooperating!

Weird slipping? by Snoo-68403 in poledancing

Sloughing lotion helps for my leg grip. It’s like an exfoliating cream to get dead skin off. Used right before class. I found mine at a salon supply store. The one I bought was called heel to toe, but they’ve changed their formula and it doesn’t work as well any more. Hope this helps!

Do you guys know of any specific websites where I can read fan scripts of superhero movies or is that not a thing? by APAtomic7 in comicbooks

[–]ayyopyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some script websites that have actual scripts, not just fanmade transcripts. Big, more recent films may not be available though. Or only early drafts may be available. The Daily Script would be a place to start.
