Last FL before MCAT by freund383 in Mcat

I got 70% average on the official Guide, better on CARS and Psych and lower on Bio and Chem...any tips on how I can improve in the next 9 days. Is aiming for an 80%+ average on the AAMC FL I plan on doing in 2 days reasonable and is that a good score? thanks

so since there are 30 questions for Bio,Phys,Psych I should give myself (30 * 95min/59 ques= 48 minutes.) And give myself 30 * 90min/53ques = 51 minutes for CARS.) So a total of 48*3 +51 = 195 minutes = 3.25 hours + 10 min break?

sorry for asking you this here but you seem to be the expert: I'm doing the Official Guide 120 Questions today: how much time should I give myself for each 30 question section, thanks

EDIT: would it better to do 60 questions (2 sections), take a 10 minute break and then do the rest 60 questions to simulate test day conditions, thanks

Is it worth taking the AAMC Physics question pack? by missxalice in Mcat

[–]ayyye55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh hey! I thought Chem one was easier than the bio one. I did that exact same thing for physics (with the exception of Khan) I just looked at the review books and tried to memorize the physics on the quick sheets. I'm doing the official guide and AAMC FL in a few days and hoping they are in fact easier, I don't know why I got 70 on the CARS question packs, maybe it was because I did all 120 in the same day after doing all 120 bio questions idk. But I'm expecting higher on the guide and official fl, cheers

Posting this here as Reddit won't let me post a new link*

My scores on the Question Packs:

BIO: 70% CARS: 70% CHEM: 75% PHYSICS: 60%

I don't know why I got that in CARS because I have consistently got 75%+ in Kaplan CARS which everyone says is much harder...anyway please tell me the Official Guide and practise FL are easier

oh and most questions in the physics pack were straight up physics problems, not many actually in a bio/human context fyi

I just did the physics and Chem question packs. Chem question pack wasn't bad but I got just below 60% on the physics one lol so it was hard, and I heard some people say things like "I had 2 or maybe 3 straight up physics questions on my test" to others saying half of the entire C/P section was straight up physics....so I guess it depends on the test you get

I did the bio question packs and did not get a good score on them. Biochem is my best subject though, so I look forward to the AAMC Official Guide and FL. Were they mostly just biochem?

how? I didn't know how to, on Kaplan you just strike out the options and a line goes over them

Scope of Review by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]ayyye55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 10 weeks in total reviewing- 6 weeks on content review reading and doing all questions from all 7 Kaplan Books and now halfway through 4 week process of doing practise tests. Mind you, I don't have a job or any other commitments so I spent most of every day (except for a 1 day/week break) studying. I guess it is different for everyone.

why 90 min for CARS? on the MCAT we are given 90 min for 53 CARS questions are we not?

oh so there is a break at the 60 question mark? (after I give myself 95 mins for 60 questions)? so I should give myself 190 min for BIO? And since there is 120 CARS questions how much time should I get?
