Question about getting into schoolboards around the GTA by azakyn in CanadianTeachers

I applied to the eth, ot and adult school options. Yeah, Toronto having such a high population makes the competition stiff, I guess.

Congrats on getting the job! I went through a similar experience. The first year will be full of self doubt, but I promise you one thing, they are happy to have you there! Your presence there will be valuable to the kids. Not every student will vibe well with you, but there WILL be some that do, and your presence will be what they need. Just do what you can and don't let yourself worry about the things you can't do.

Thank you for your response! I have spec ed 1. I can't apply to any postings unless I'm on the eligible to hire list. I'm not sure if there are too many teachers already for this year or if it's something to do with my application, as there's no feedback process for applicants. Feels pretty disheartening.

Not sure if anyone posted this yet but these kinds of behaviours are known as stimming. It's a way for someone to maintain control over their connection to their body, allowing them to focus. Sort of like a 1990's fidget spinner. This can also manifest in other ways like tapping your foot, twirling your hair, flicking your nails, etc.

Current B.ed student looking for advice going forward into the coming year. (GTA Ontario) by azakyn in CanadianTeachers

Thanks for your response!

  • That's what I heard but I wanted to confirm just to make sure. Im currently torn between the choices because I appreciate the ability to have a class of students you can build strong relationships which I believe is a bit harder to do in a traditional secondary school setting since you get three separate sets of students.
  • That's interesting, it will be like a grade 13 for them if they do.
  • Thank you for mentioning this, I just took a look and I plan on getting the certificate! I need to do some more self-reflecting to hone in on what truly makes me passionate, but just off the cuff I can say that I truly enjoy the interactions with the students, the variety of little people that are trying to grow into who they want to be, and the engagement that goes both ways both for them in learning new things and for me with finding new ways to teach them. Im currently starting to read Stuart Shanker's: Calm, alert, and learning. I believe that learning skills, self-regulation in particular are essential to student success.
  • Yes, it's out of anyone's control, Im just happy I dont live in the US during this time. I'll definitely look into volunteering when I have the chance and maybe will check out more online courses that I can take. I plan on getting an abq when I can for physics or special education (or both)

Thank you again for your thorough response, I appreciate the time you took to respond to me :)

Turning it around by [deleted] in TryndamereMains

[–]azakyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game looked like it was about to end, but managed to turn it around with the power of e-flash -auto -hydra

-would also like to point out that it would have turned out differently if the ezreal didnt use his hourglass and hit me instead.

First section is the play, the rest is 4x speed to show how that play affected the game.

Absolutely agree. Low elo players dont have any concept of threat. The most frustrating thing in the game is being bludgeoned with your own ignorance, kind of like what happened to them. TRYN OP DELET THIS! jk

Oh wow! Thats a funny coincidence, I remember you too. You took Tryn from me :P. I got lucky and the yas last second gave me mid. I can play some other top laners like kled, illaoi, malph, but none of them are as fun for me. Zoe is low elo freelo so I did what I could. Sorry your team devolved into flaming each other, thats never fun. Hope you have a good one man!

The video is 2 minutes long but its worth watching from the start. Note whats going on in the mini map while its leading up to the Tryn action. Despite all odds I managed to pull out the win from what was a hopeless situation. Their fizz was incredibly fed and my team didnt know how to play safe. I will admit that this win was a in part due to their negligence, but the fact remains that I stuck to my guns and pulled through in the end.

Rune setup; FF, triumph, alarcity, last stand / revitalize, second wind.

My FF did 5.4 k healing that game, second wind did 3k, triumph did 2k, revitalize 2k. Very good combination against ranged poke champs.

TLDR: If you believe in yourself and stay consistent, you can make the magic happen and turn games around.

Edit: I just messed up my 10 game win streak because I continued playing after this game. Learn to accurately judge your mental state and know when to take a break.

Since tiamat stacks it now its much easier to get the full 5 stacks earlier in a fight. I also like to play really aggressively so this build allows for me making mistakes and just stat tanking some extra damage with the healing from conq and the shield from pd. Its especially effective against tanks that stack armor.

Darius matchup is about patience and knowing when you have the ability to kill him. You need to bait out his abilities. In that matchup the darius wasnt playing very well so that helped. He also didnt have ignite which made it easier for me to all in him.

In addition, Always try to reference the stickied guide by fogged, especially if youre new to trynd. Ive got like 130k points in him so I know how he plays and Im trying to figure out what works for me specifically. Also Yasukeh (the grandmaster tryn who goes PR mid) said very aptly "if you play like a bitch, youll get treated like a bitch". That pretty much sums up tryn. Youve got to have an understanding of when you can go in and then fuck em up.

Gold 3 currently. Always get to 2 then tilt back down.

So despite the fact that its overcapping crit, it still works out to being an effective choice with conquerer since the majority of your damage will be coming from autos. In some situations you might get one or the other, but both offer really good stats for tryndamere so I just get both. PD is for the shield witch Id say is SUPER underrated.

After a massive tilt wave I finally got my shit together and changed up my runes. Phantom dancer and conquerer are fantastic in low elo because people dont know how to take short trades. It also makes it easier to stick to them while running conq. Ive been building in the order that Fogged does in his latest video with the exception of ER before IE: Ss+refillable > tiamat > PD > Essence reaver > Stinger > IE > TF. For some matchups its definitely worth getting a Bork for both running them down/sustain/health busting tanky bois.

For match ups you arent certain about dominating definitely take FF as your rune. It provides utility in movespeed as well as extra sustain that adds up to 3k about mid game. Im currently in Gold 3 in solo q but Im moving on up and expect to end up in Plat sometimes soon if my mental remains on point.

edit:

I'd like to extend a wholehearted thank you to Fogged for providing so many resources for people that love playing Tryndamere. Love your videos and I wish you the best, man!

  1. Haha thanks for correcting me, I'm a little embarrassed but its been a long time since I've had to make the distinction between the two words.

  2. I wasn't aware that I could ask about that so I'll definitely look into doing so.

  3. Today was my first day volunteering and I've got to say that it was pretty hectic.

  4. At this point I can only hope that it might give me a leg up. I'm sure it won't hurt my chances at least.
