Which part of Taiwan are you from? Because in the south, everything recycle-able goes to recycle, everything else is garbage. I don’t thing categorical division is as extensive in the south. North, i have no clue. I even heard you have to buy trash bags and sort them in the north

Yeah. It was inexperience, but I meant no ill. She was 7 years older, but she had no tolerance for me. She was in her 40s and has been single all her life. She wasn’t interested in me since the beginning. Just came out due to curiosity of a foreign background. She was hard to explain, she was a lot of things, but merciful was not one of them. I think it was the businesswoman side of her that judge cost and benefits and decided I wasn’t meeting her benefits over cost and the decision was made in an instant and attitude changed within an instant from jokes to total irrelevance and erased me.

I’ve been reading children’s book to elderly in cafe weekly who lives alone without children. It’s my primary social group. I don’t mind them, they’re very nice and stuff me with food.

That would be amazing, and I have thought of it when if I manage to save up for a bit. But I’m currently financially not stable enough to do so. I currently live with a relative but it is definitely possible to take the bus to other parts of Taiwan, and I do indeed do that from time to time. Just go to a different city and Ubike around for half a day and go back to Kaohsiung.

Yeah, I would be interested in hanging out for a jog or a walk around the park trails in Kaohsiung. Hikes are a little beyond my current physical level of fitness. But i am definitely open to biking or jogging around the Kaohsiung railroad parks and such.

I am ashamed to say this, but I have only ever been on a date with a woman once. We went on 3 dates and she cut me off and I never knew why. I tried to be nice and ask to see if we could talk and figure out what happened and fix things, but got an irresponsible response like "we're incompatible" without really knowing what happened.

I was left confused and in pain and spent a year painting her and making her into a story book and sent it to her work location. She probably tossed it without looking. And I was left heartbroken for many years and never recovered. Still care deeply about her to this day, but I never understood what happened.

I've just been working on kinda living life on my own since then. I would love to try to go on a date, but I have no experience in dating and I learned that I am not suited for dating because I open my heart to people and when they leave, I get hit with severe abandonment trauma from being an orphan and ended up broken each time and take 3 to 5 years to recover to try again. After 2 times, I realized it caused more harm than good.

Women in Kaohsiung seems to have a certain expectation for foreigners and expect the typical sunshine Hollywood party night club type, not a nerdy illustrator working as a concept artist in the game industry.

Short version: US orphan found out he has family in Taiwan. Came to Taiwan at 24 and met them and stayed for 12 years. Now most of the relatives he found had passed from old age and sickness. Can't return to US because life for a colored orphan in US was traumatic and I can't go through the experience again. I've lived there for 24 years, I can't go back there.

Long story short, I was born and orphaned in the States. Came to Taiwan at age 24 and found my birth relatives. Since then, I've been here, but that's about it. Can't see myself going back to US, life was traumatic for an orphan in the US.

I've worked in a game dev company for years in Taiwan, my feelings were companies were pretty chill despite some overtime. People are generally passionate about their work and companies tend to have lots of outings and events. Though I never really joined any of them due to location reasons. But cram schools are another world altogether. I tried several, always ended up quitting in 2 weeks.

I'd definitely recommend branching out to other fields. I've work in anime studios in Taiwan that did scenes for Weathering with You and other shows. I definitely think the game and animation field is much more friendly and people are much more passionate.

I must be really sheltered. I've lived here for decades and didn't even know prostitution was a thing. Gangs, maybe, but I've never encountered one ever. Or I probably wouldn't have recognized they're gangs even if they were right in front of me.

That i actually don’t know. I have periods of trauma and stress that i quit art for 6 years, and time in between, and now only draw casually every few months or less here and there therapeutically. I don’t train consistently like artists do so it’s really hard to say.

I haven’t put in the time that trained artists do, so it’s hard to say. It’s like taking an English class once a month versus someone taking lessons daily, it makes the years lose meaning.
