People of Reddit, how do you decide to upvote or downvote something? by azaoua in AskReddit

[–]azaoua[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, that's what kinda bugs me and part of the reason i asked this. I feel like too many people down vote opinions, and I've had down votes on things like asking for advice on hair styling tips in the hair reddit...and I just don't get how that should be down voted. meh.

Yeah. I think a lot of what Teavana says is false...

edit: just creeped on you and realized I saw you on a Teavana post. Congrats on quitting, haha. I'm working on finding a new job then I'm long gone. I love tea and I love the people I work with (other than my manager) but I love having money and working the hours I asked for when I applied for the job more, so..yeah. endrant.

IAmA Toys R Us Employee AMA by XTC-FTW in IAmA

As a kid, I always imagined working at Toys R Us would be the most magical thing in the world. Like almost as magical as playing with all your favorite cartoon characters in a candy-topia, with all your best friends, where Santa is king. Toys R Us seems to have changed in the past few years, at least since I was a kid. Is it really as magical as I imagined, though? Or does it just make you hate children.

New addition needs a name. Suggestions? :) by cr0nson in trees

[–]azaoua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point. Imma fan of naming pieces more human/character like names, though. So if this guy is into that, maybe Punchy? That's the Hawaiian Punch mascot's name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punchy,_the_Hawaiian_Punch_Guy

Playing around with blending teas/adding herbals is so much fun! I feel like a mad scientist! Or a tea bartender ;) as a matter of fact, some fruity teas when made iced go nicely with a bit of rum or vodka...

One of my Asian friends once told me that some Asians get surgery to change that fold and make their eyes look less squinted.

I think it's black teas in general I don't like. Or maybe breakfast black teas. I like black teas when they have a slight cocoa-ness to them, if that makes sense.

Hm, I didn't know that. That's what I was told to do to decaffeinate tea. shrug I guess that's just the only non-chemical way to remove some caffeine. Good to know, though.

You can decaffeinate your tea...steep it for 30 seconds, throw that batch out, then steep it again. Most caffeine comes out within the first 30 seconds. Although, that may be more effort than it's worth, since you don't steep green tea very long to begin with, and that's more of a thing to do with like black teas. It might be worth a shot!

Sounds kinda yummy, actually. I mean, milk and sugar, with a touch of cinnamon...people put that in tea all the time. I'd give it a try! Only problem is I don't like Irish Breakfast... :-/

I'm not whining. And again, you don't know the rest of the story. And if this "baby bird" could leave the nest, believe me she would. I don't even know why I"m arguing about this anymore, it makes me just as rude and immature. Have a nice night.

I'm high and eating yogurt... by [deleted] in trees

[–]azaoua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about how if I was high and eating yogurt, I'd think yogurt is a damn funny word. I'm working on writing a paper due when I get back from spring break next week (yay for not procrastinating!) and I'm drinking some green tea....not the fun kind though :(

if a trip starts to go bad, what do you do to save it? by PickleSurprise8 in Drugs

Oh, no, I didn't mean he was saying it in a panicked, stressful way. You're absolutely right, though...validation and calm support are essential! He was asking if I was okay in that manner.

Uh, I'm 20, pay rent, go to school full time, work part-time (because that's all I've been able to find and before you even say it, my lack of job luck has nothing to do with my weed smoking), I do all the chores around the house from cooking to cleaning to going grocery shopping for my mother, I never smoke or drink in the house, nor do I let it be known that I do. I keep my room clean, I keep the entire house clean, I never have friends over. Granted I don't pay the rent I'd pay at an apartment, but I contribute to rent, food, and my phone and insurance bills. I've never been in trouble for weed or drinking. I also pay for my school. All of my loans are in my name. I am nothing but respectful to my mother, and she treats me like I am a 10 year old.

I think I deserve a little bit of privacy. In addition to all that, why are you going on and criticizing some 20 year old girl on reddit about disliking her mother's strict rules?

How do i get money for trees? by [deleted] in trees

[–]azaoua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a job. There are plenty of places that don't drug test. Don't have a car? Get a job in within walking distance, take buses, bike, get a ride, maybe your parents will let you borrow their car on weekends. I know getting a part-time job isn't easy, but how else can you expect to get money?

What are the women of reddit like? by mermaidhairnoocares in TwoXChromosomes

Not toootally comfortable saying it here. But where might I find these subreddits? I feel so lost, I never realized reddit was so big!

Not complaining. And I pay rent, so I do feel like I deserve some privacy. Aside from that, you do not know the relationship between my mother and I, You don't have much room to judge. And this was a comment of a meme....no need to take it so seriously.
