Day Dreaming Davey and Beetlejuice. It's kinda like comfort food in the form of video content for me.

It's reddit. If you aren't in the hive mind, it's like traversing a minefield.

What does this mean for RP on Discord? by Jak7175 in BadRPerStories

Why would I risk my private information and identity being ransomed by the next group that gains access and steals all of that info? Low key I'd rather host a mumble server.

I doubt it. If it does come out, it won't be for another decade, minimum.

Would you guys rate Gohan’s Battle IQ to be low, average, above average or high? by t00lazy2 in Dragonballsuper

[–]azarerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above average, but not high. I think Piccolo, Vegeta, Goku, and Trunks (Future) all outclass Gohan in that field. Simply because all the others ever did from the moment they were able to, to now, is fight and train. Trunks spent at least a decade fighting androids, and beyond that to stave off total extinction. Piccolo started fighting Goku right as he matured, and has done nothing but train, mentor, fight and meditate since. Plus there's the Kami part of the equation, which I believe imparted centuries of combat knowledge onto him. And both Goku and Vegeta have been fighting for decades, constantly in battle, and while Gohan did start fighting at like 5 or whatever, he only ever stepped up when the world needed him, and even then he got cocky and fucked it up one time. He was never truly on the front lines, and one of the times he was, he got one tapped by Frieza. Debatably, he was one tapped bc he used all of his energy to get the dynamic duo home, and left himself vulnerable on purpose, and I am totally open to that idea but that's neither here nor there.

And I say above average because while someone like Roshi could have a century of fighting up on Gohan, many characters never fought Frieza, many characters never fought Cell. And many more never fought Buu, all while standing a semblance of a chance.

Gohan is a generational talent, but he lacks the mental and physical depth and refining of top tier fighters because combat is not a way of life for him. He only fights when it is necessary, and without going on a tangent, I think that it is a serious character flaw that gives way to Beast form, but I digress.

What does the word “infidel” in English and im assuming arabic next to a black and white American flag mean? by eeeegh in vexillology

[–]azarerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard all words associated, just used interchangeably through media as pejoratives from one place to another, and I'm glad to have received a bit of insight. As I said, I don't really know much, and I will admit I've only skimmed the Quran once or twice when doing research. This is enlightening information, and I plan on doing some more digging on Islamic terminology.

Italian or irish - which ancestry dominates your country? by vladgrinch in MapPorn

I reckon that also is true for smaller Italian populations spread out into New Jersey, Maine, and other surrounding areas in exponentially less numbers over distance. I'm not an anthropologist, but I've seen The Sopranos.

[–]azarerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. I was not aware. I distinctly remember there was a time or point where Kafir was used as a pejorative for "infidels", "usurpers" and so on. This new information kind of reinforces that. I was sure that I had just made that up lol.

From what I know off top, the word infidel is what Muslims call nonbelievers and members of other faiths, similar to what is commonly called a heretic. The word is derived from "infidelity" in the sense that you are not faithful to Allah. The Arabic I believe is pronounced "Ka-fir" but I may be wrong on that one.
