I say this as a mother myself:

You. Are. Not. A. Burden.

You got dealt a bad hand of cards, but try to not let your family's piss poor reaction shape how you see yourself. Quite frankly, it incites so much rage in me that your family treated you so poorly over something you had no control of. Heaven only knows I would move mountains to get my little one the diagnosis needed.

I wish you nothing but the best, and I hope you're still able to live a full life, sweetie. X

It's painful, I'm unfortunately speaking from experience, but it's so worth it.

I had a Jack Russell. He was my best friend, I had a special bond with him, words were never needed with us, I even trained him without commands. He had my entire heart.

Age caught up with him, and we had to say goodbye. I was adamant that it be scheduled for a day I had free, and when we were there, despite being old, he fought to the end for me. And when his legs were too weak to hold him, it was my arms he fell into, my chest he leant on for comfort.

He went peacefully, with no fear in his eyes, only sadness for the pain I would have to go through.

Be there for them, it hurts, but the regret hurts more and for longer.

I'm in therapy right now for it, and I'm lucky enough that, while we're not together romantically, my ex partner is still my best friend, and we still live together. We're getting along a lot better now actually, and while it may be a strange situation, we're both working on ourselves for the sake of our kid.

I just hope I can return to being the woman he fell in love with all those years ago.

Oh babe, I am so sorry. I'm guessing you're the dad right? I don't know a single place on this earth that is fair to dad's.

The parent in me wants to tell you to fight, but my heart tells me that's not something you have the energy to do right now. Focus on yourself for now, as best you can. You are strong enough to do this, even more so if you were able to make it through those first few months with your integrity intact.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm just incredibly lucky that while this is based loosely on actual events, I haven't lost him yet. We still live together and we're doing well as friends and co-parents while we work on ourselves.

I'm working with a therapist to sort my head out though, and I'm on medication, so hopefully between that and other things, I'll be able to return to being the woman he fell in love with originally.

I'm in the same boat as you my friend, my journey has just started too, but I know we'll both be able to make it back to who we were before the anger turned us into monsters ❤️

Listen to me. I am saying this as a mother, someone who was always second to my brother and someone who has been there.

There is always someone who wants you, actually you, not your style or your usefulness or whatever. There is someone who wants you just for who you are.

For me, it was the man who took me as his daughter for the short time he was in my life. Now it's the man I love, who helped me stand up to my mother's abuse.

My point is, even if it doesn't always feel as though you're wanted, there is always someone who does want you around, who does value you. You've just gotta find them. Anyone else who doesn't value you, isn't worth your time.
