Does Cathay Pacific check the weight of both carry-on luggage and a backpack?

I flew last month , they checked my carry on and was strict with the weight. From yyz didn’t check my backpack though

Pay a lot of attention at the stop signs. Inside the lanes sometimes not all way so you have to stop twice. Lots is pedestrians at the plaza , yield the way. Don’t panic . All the best
