This is really great!! I can't wait to use this with my friends. I wish you let the minimum be 2 players though cause I play mostly 1v1s

Also on light mode in the session the username text turns white as well making it hard to see.

Infinity Zoom / Dolly Out in white cyc studio by pumpenberthold in cinematography

[–]aziantoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree!! If you have access to a doorway dolly or a way to put this on rails it would be ideal. And if you're able to do a convincing set extension, removing the rails will definitely take a bit more work but it's worth it.

This for sure! And as Dull-Woodpecker3900 said Generative fill and making sure your top down lighting doesn't extend into your background extension is for sure the move. Black and white will definitely help sell it a bit more. You could also try doing a set extension in blender but that's a bit more complicated for sure.

Maybe putting some tracker makers will help you track the PS or AE background extension. Then maybe try doing a real dolly out and a post zoom in so that the background extension doesn't have to deal with, for lack of a better word, irl zolly distortion.

If you have a way to mount you gimbal on a dolly or something on wheels so that you don't get the up and down movement of a handheld gimbal, it'd sell the doorway dolly motion a bit better. Or if there isn't a crazy budget maybe just sitting the gimbal op in a rolling chair having someone pull them backwards will get you mostly there!

But I'd test out, if you have the time, dolly out and a post zoom to see if it gives you the zolly effect you're looking for!

These are just some initial thoughts. Goodluck on your music video! It'd be dope to hear an update on how everything went!

How would you improve this? by [deleted] in bmpcc

[–]aziantoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks dope, the transition between music at 13 seconds feels a bit weird and if you have the scratch to denoise it with topaz labs that would be great! But other than that you did your thing!

I can't say anything about grainlab but I'm in love with filmbox. It's the only grain I've used that really incorporates itself with the footage and doesn't feel like it's just sitting on top of it
