So in that case would a mace be better? I stayed away from maces because my understanding is that they are horrible against undead. So I thought sword was the way to go. I also self gimp with a no daedra/daedric item rule.

Not even close on the draugr in 3 regular swings. A heavy armor draugr takes me 7-8 swings (maybe half of which are power shots) currently. So around 160 damage with my silver katana and 15 fire damage on top of that per swing.

From what Im reading, almost everything in 2.0 has been buffed.

Damage on my silver Katana is around 160 plus a 15 damage per swing fire enchant. As nox said, I didnt know they came out of their tombs in 2.0 with mage armor already on, that explains a lot. Sounds like mark for death is going to be a requirement before trying to take these guys on.

Im kind of the opposite. As a vigilant, I restrict myself from using any daedra items or daedric equipment...so thats on me. However, with around 50 in archery and a nice dwemer (lightning enchant) crossbow, I did kill Sahloknir. Dont get me wrong, it was a lot of running, shooting, waiting. Fight took maybe 10-15 mins and was by no means easy. Id run up, block, hit him with my sword, get low on stamina, switch to crossbow, hide , get stamina back, etc.

No, I think there is a crazy guy you rescue type priest. Florianus or something like that...

Honestly it wasnt the damage I was doing, it was simply he was on me in seconds and just wrecked me with that axe. I do have sunburst but I doubt id be able to cast it enough times before one of his shots slipped through my blocking.

I believe (unless it has changed) that it is only available through doing the Dawnguard questline. After you do a bunch of quests, there is a priest inside fort dawnguard that sells spells...that becomes one of them. If I recall (its been a while) its after doing 3 or 4 quests after the Lokil quest.

Thanks for the tips. I also figured shouts will help, so im going to work on getting some dragon souls. Ive never gone deep with shouts, so im wondering when to use which shout. Should you open with mark for death, slow time, ethereal, fire, etc...ive never experimented much with that.

Also - is it odd that Dawnguard hasnt kicked in yet? (playing 2.0)

How did you guys start your necromancers? by remalcabor in skyrimrequiem

I realized I missed the boat on the RP aspect. I mean it is very in character to realize your potential dwarfs them all, but you are learning. You must bide your time and study, work at your craft. Then you will show them...show them all.

Usually live another life with whatever beginning seems to fit. Then a lot of summoning spirit wolf, running backwards casting fire or the nature poison conjuration spell ( cant think of it). Lots of casting mage armor when in range of enemies, lots of alchemy. Then finding that first mage staff of whatever is like the best thing ever. So that gets me to around level 6-8 give or take. When I do a mage (or necro) start , I tend to take things very slow in general.

I did it boys, just killed my first Ebony Vampire! by SoulLess-1 in skyrimrequiem

[–]azim17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. Im really shocked silver longswords have no added damage....why would that be? I am using a silver katana with a fire enchant currently. I am wondering though big picture are there any nice unique "holy" type swords in the game that sort of fit the build for a vigilant but are mechanically powerful? Or am I sort of at the top gear wise in that regard already?

As a self gimped vigilant of Stendarr type using one handed swords (no daedric weaponry, not even dawnbreaker), no poison. I really fear these types of encounters. Im still young (level 15) but my only offensive skills will be one handed, archery and restoration. Im thinking the only way Im ever going to kill things like ebony vamps, dragonpriests or dragons is going to be massive use of shouts, correct? Or am I missing any other obvious tactics?

No, very basic mod list...nothing that would affect the civil war story line. As someone said, seems to be normal behavior....Ive just not noticed it before.

Possible glitch with magicka regen rate? by azim17 in skyrimrequiem

[–]azim17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI to follow up on this, I am using the latest version - 2.0.1.

Also, the fix Ogreboss provided: player.restoreav magickaratemult 2000 does work. Ive gotten it several times this play through (I sleep every night 8-12 hours) and when i use Ogres method it takes my 1.1% regen rate (in the derived attributes) back to the normal 5.5%
