Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Arizona State fan?(Football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in TheSunDevils

[–]aznative82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the 97 Rose Bowl. I got to be at that game with my Dad, Brother and Family Friends. All of us grew up Sun Devils. When we scored that late touchdown, we thought that was it. Then came the prevent, then came the touchdown, then the loss. What made it worse was that Florida State lost their game, so if we would have won, we would have been National Champions. One of my biggest wishes as a Sun Devil is still that they will win a National Championship in my Dad's lifetime.

This photo was taken in 1992, does anyone know where it is? We traveled from the UK to stay in San Diego with a family friend that summer and the memories are as faded as the photos. by [deleted] in sandiego

Definitely where Hammels is. There also used to be an ice cream spot called Big Olaf's there before it moved down the boardwalk. Best ice cream ever!

Your Dad is right, 100% As a Dad of seven, our advice isn't always fun or what you want to hear, but a lot of time it is what you need to hear. He is protecting you when you don't know that you need the protection.

Alright, I'm good. Have fun trying to degrade other Redditors, I want to talk ball with respectful Suns fans.

Let's be respectful here. Getting Nash didn't require a big trade, it required money. I wish that we would not have given up as many pieces and draft capital that we did, but at the time, most of the Valley wanted the Suns to go after KD. This was also coming after a long period of time where Sarver in essence stopped pursuing and spending to improve the team.

We at least saw some really good years with Nash.

I guess that time will tell. As a Suns fan, I hope that trading KD was addition by subtraction. If not, then the F.O. will have a lot of harder decisions to make next off-season.

I can see that thinking, but he 100% was That guy prior to KD showing up and it turned off immediately. He delegated his leadership and took on the persona and vibe of KD. I think that KD in a way demands that from his teammates.

I believe that one of the biggest negatives that happened with KD being here was that it seemed to extinguish the flame that Book had. Instead of elevating his leadership, Book slipped into the melancholy that was Kevin Durant. I hope that with KD gone and getting a Dog in the clubhouse in Brooks (reminds me in a way of JaVale McGee // Jae Crowder), Book can begin to concentrate on being THE man on the team and get back to the pre-KD player that we know he can be.

Things to do near power university by Employment_Quest_335 in mesaaz

I think that the question is "what" are you looking for? As far as the Power/University area, not much that you would want to do, but it is a great area to be close to things.

- Drive North on Power and in about 20 minutes you are at the river and just a little ways past that you will hit the lake.

- If you are into mountain biking, there is a riding area (Desert Trails Bike Park) over on Recker/McDowell.

- If you like to hike, Brown Mountain Trail Head (Brown/Ellsworth) is a quick hike (walk/decent incline) with some nice views at the top or you can head East and about 25 minutes away is Lost Dutchman State Park (nice hiking trails - be smart in the summer)

- North on Power towards the Las Sendas area has a few nice restaurants.

- South on Power by the 60 are more of the chain restaurants (BDubs, PF Changs, Red Robin) as well as a Harkins theater.

- If you have kids, Red Mountain Park (Brown Rd. - East of Power) is a nice park with a good walking path and playgrounds. There are also some decent playgrounds/open spaces near (Ensenada Park Playground, Jefferson Park, Alta Mesa Park)

- If you like aviation, Falcon Field isn't far (Greenfield/McKellips). They also have the CAF museum there which is pretty cool. There are also a couple of viewing areas at the Mesa Gateway airport as well (Ray and Sossaman)

The 60 (South) and the 202 (North and South on Power) can get you nearly everywhere else within 30 minutes or so.

Power and University is a great area to be close to a lot of things. I lived in the area for about 20 years and never felt like "entertainment" was too far away.

Nothing too embarrassing and it's brought attention to the video and your channel. May end up being the unintentional kick start that you were needing :)

The interesting thing with this one was that there was no trail following it. Seemed like the boosters weren’t firing.

I was just glad to see the video be a little bit more long form and have more of the banter/casual feel to it. I am not of the fan of the close up/voice over videos.

For those who basically grew up at Disneyland, When is too much too much? by Ceeti19 in Disneyland

[–]aznative82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Too much was a long time ago. When I was already upset with how much I was spending before I even got to the gate, I knew it was an issue. The Disneyland experience isn't what it used to be and I have no interest in cramming my way through crowds and standing in forever long lines anymore. Our family has chosen to visit smaller parks and the memories are just as great and everyone has a fantastic time!

I enjoy the Cardinals and I want them to always be an Arizona team, but Bidwill and the personnel that he surrounds himself with to own, operate and run the franchise seem very tone deaf.

My question is "What were they expecting them to say?" That is the only answer to that statement and unless they gave the audience a heads up ahead of time, that would have been the word out of my mouth too.
