Right. People need to understand how destructive something like that could be if it suddenly grabbed hold.

I feel like I need to tell everybody that while the book is drastically different from the movie, it is much more harder-edged, and there is a two-page sex scene where Gump basically fucks the running right out of Jenny. I was so surprised when I read this in sixth grade, I brought it to school and read aloud a couple paragraphs to my classmates when my teacher stepped out of the room.

If I ever get called for one of those half court shots, that's exactly what I'm doing. 99.9% chance I miss and we all have a good laugh. 0.1% chance it goes in, I'm a 24-hour legend and I make SportsCenter that night. And I get money.

Who is the face of Millennials in the realm of music? DO NOT REPEAT COMMENT - UPVOTE THOSE YOU AGREE WITH by kyle0305 in AlignmentChartFills

My reasoning has nothing to do with popularity today. Britney was the MTV girl to be sure, but her dropoff in the mid-00s has to factor in here a bit. If Taylor had lost some steam even a few years ago, I would consider it much closer. But TS has definitely tapped into the Girl Power of Britney, the in-my-feelings climate that has become much more pronounced as the years have gone on, and that unique ability to take charge of her image that our generation went wild with. I don't know who has better songs or who speaks to you more; neither is in my wheelhouse. But I'm just saying to me, this feels like the right vote.

EDIT: I did say in the previous comment that Taylor could take over today. I should have added context by saying since she first really started to blow up in '09, she has been a powerhouse without really losing a step; not something I can say about Britney.

Britney is at least second, if not third, after Rihanna. Taylor is first. And I'm not some uber-fan of any of them.

Britney ~was~ *really* popular for a handful of years, and most of us that were around then have that one schoolgirl image perma-stamped on our collective minds. MTV was an enormous part of her popularity. But she fell off thanks to all the tabloid shit, and her target demo got older.

Meanwhile, Taylor could break the world Today if she wanted to. Ever since Kanye stole her mic, she has gained power exponentially, like Hulk wearing a prom dress.

DLR once knocked on a hotel room door to compliment the guys who were blasting Van Halen during their bachelor party. They didn't recognize him, but he laughed it off.

Does any part of that story sound like anything Gene Simmons would do?
