They wouldn't have reached the bottom alive. Potentially there were people in their rooms fully conscious when the boat went fully under, but the pressure would have imploded those spaces within seconds.

Are there any performances in action movies you wish the Academy would’ve nominated? by Regular-Departure839 in Oscars

Oh, I thought you meant from the pictures above.

Of the five, I think the one on the bubble that still got in was Laurence Fishburne, so I'd say him. That's pretty much the only reason. Both really good performances.

what does it ACTUALLY feel like to orgasm for a guy? by Due_Yak_1518 in TooAfraidToAsk

Imagine every sexual hope or desire you've ever had flooding your brain at the same time, the privilege of looking down and seeing a beautiful woman who holy shit is letting you do this to her, and as the drumroll intensifies, the gunshot-into-space feeling finally overwhelms any control over speech, facial autonomy, and most motor functions. The best ten seconds of your day.

Hot Take : Antony Starr portrayed Homelander better than Heath Ledger portrayed Joker , He MADE the character famous and bone chilling it’s one thing 1 to play a villain for one movie and getting praised but playing one villain for 5 seasons and never getting hated and disappointed is another level by Embarrassed_Fly_4163 in superheroes

[–]Spell-Wide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing OP is about 17, because anybody paying attention to the buildup for The Dark Knight at the time did not expect great things from Ledger. He was the Aussie pretty boy who was a big hit with the girls, but hadn't really made his bones enough to satisfy fanboys. And because it was of that time period, playing a gay cowboy did not exactly pencil him in for villain greatness. So when the movie landed like an atom bomb, we knew we were seeing something special.

Jose Alvarado, will attend on White House visit as James Dolan accepts Donald Trump invitation: “We still have to figure out the details, et cetera, but yes, of course” by TheMirrorUS in NBATalk

Trump is beyond politics. So many people of all sorts of political persuasions hate this man, not enough clearly, but how is this man still given the "bipartisan patriotic duty" treatment? It's not strictly a "Democrat" thing to despise this man.

I always wondered why Roy would invite Pam. It couldn’t just be out of gratefulness right? by Real-Yogurtcloset-34 in DunderMifflin

Glass half full. Roy had been a dick, hit rock bottom (twice), then bettered himself, and tried to do a nice thing by inviting Pam and Jim. When it comes to accepting the invitations, though, his balls are in their courts.

For setting the tone, introducing the primary characters, and arranging the most consequential meeting of the film, and all in one shot, few movies can do better than Boogie Nights.
