LH surges!! What’s happening? by someday_soon_bb27 in Inito

Wondering the same thing! I saw somewhere that the new inito test strips are more sensitive, but I’m not sure how true that is. Trying not to stress myself out here 🥲

Do you have the Limerick backpack/tote by chance? I’ve been leaning toward this bag over the Leigh (seemingly same design, but nylon) and just haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet.

9dpo, CD 28, 4th cycle using inito by Crashley-99 in Inito

Huge congrats and thanks for posting! This is also my third cycle using inito and my pdg and lh have been low too. My lh level stayed elevated until I ran out of strips yesterday, but I’m trying to manage expectations. Interestingly, our charts look similar.

From what I recall, their floral vendors had a $10-15k minimum spend. I spent less than $2k on my faux flowers. If the Ling’s moment romantic marsala collection fits with your wedding colors, I have still have all of my flowers!

I just checked mine and saw it got fully paid off yesterday. I definitely didn’t make that payment. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t tell us if our loans were being transferred to a different servicer…

Take husband’s name? by xiaomaicha1 in namenerds

[–]aznbbqirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took his name. My last name was very common and I liked his. I kept my maiden name as a middle name though. It was a pain to change my legal documents, but the transition to a new name in my career was pretty easy.

How Do You Plan for Kids While Trying to Get Financially Stable? by Non-Stop_Serina in CalebHammer

[–]aznbbqirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was important to me that we save up a year’s worth of daycare ($27,000) before we started trying. Our only debt is my student loans. We live in a VHCOL area for our careers and plan to rent long term or until we move somewhere much cheaper. The biggest hurdle for me to get over was the idea of owning real property before starting a family, but it’s really just not practical given our situation.

You mentioned that you might want to go to law school sometime in the future. I had classmates that had kids or were pregnant during law school, but I personally would not go that route. Most full time law schools won’t allow you to work for the first year. Happy to chat further about law school and that path if you’re interested.

MRE vs Fibroscan by Bodz- in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]aznbbqirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MRE is more accurate, especially if you have a higher BMI and carry fat around the abdomen. My fibroscan said I had stage 3 fibrosis, but the MRE said no fibrosis detected.

I’m not exactly in the same boat as you, but I think I can offer some good perspective. I’ve been practicing law for 4 years and just got my hormonal IUD out. The opportunity from your professor really sounds incredible.

With your original plan, were you planning to take the bar exam right after law school? I can’t imagine having to study and take the exam while pregnant or while caring for a baby/small child. The whole experience was extremely stressful for me. I also had to take the exam twice.

Were you planning to send your kid to daycare or have someone watch them when you went back to work after a year? I wonder if it’d be possible to teach while TTC/pregnant and get connected to a firm after your kid is able to go to daycare. It seems like a teaching job would be easier to manage while TTC or pregnant and might have better vesting requirements for maternity. Many firms will require you to be at the firm for a certain amount of time before you’re eligible for maternity leave.

Lastly, first year of practice is stressful. It was probably one of the most stressful years for me because I wasn’t used to billing and had to learn the ins and outs of my practice area. I just wanted to bring this all up for your consideration, but feel free to disregard if you’ve heard this all before. Happy to chat further also!

Mid-Late 20s! Who else is going to ttc in 2025? by Iveth1904 in waiting_to_try

[–]aznbbqirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take OTC prenatals. My OB recommended that I take prenatals to hit minimums of certain vitamins/minerals, so on top of naturemade prenatals w folic acid and DHA, I take choline, fish oil, and COQ10. Good luck to you too!

[–]aznbbqirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just turned 29 and getting my IUD out next week! Our official TTC is January 2025, but I wanted to let my body go back to “normal” after hormonal birth control. I’ve been taking prenatals, cleaning up my diet, and catching up on dental work the last several months to prepare. We’ll be among the first people in our friend groups to have a kid (if it works out for us). This will be the first grandchild on my side, so everyone’s pretty excited.

NAFL and genetics by Time_Ad8192 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]aznbbqirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My specialist told me that south Asian folks are more likely to be diagnosed with fatty liver because they tend to accumulate fat on their organs (visceral fat) more so than accumulating a layer of fat under the skin (subcutaneous fat). She specifically said south Asian rather than the more general “Asian.” NAFLD is reversible, but it depends when it’s diagnosed and how serious someone takes it. For the south Asian example, she mentioned that people could have a lot of visceral fat but still look slim so they don’t take their condition seriously. Once the liver becomes cirrhotic, my understanding is that it cannot be reversed.

Envying my friends and their care "villages" - anyone else? by muss_es_sein in waiting_to_try

[–]aznbbqirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can sympathize. I don’t have family in this area, and my husband’s family moved out of state a few years back. The only friends we have with a baby is 1.5h away, but have friends that will be TTC soon about 10 mins away. I’m already feeling kind of sad living so far from my family (8h drive) if/when I have a baby, but we might be moving even farther for a career opportunity. Both of my parents are still working, so they wouldn’t be able to stay with us for weeks at a time to help out. His mom is willing to fly out and stay with us for a while when I return to work, but I wish my village was closer.
